Subway - Long Beach
Subway
Description
**Restaurant Review: A Disheartening Experience**
Located in Long Beach, this Subway branch has garnered troubling attention, primarily due to poor service and unkempt facilities. Customers have reported a lack of attentiveness from staff, often observed making personal calls while patrons wait. Complaints also highlight uncleanliness and inconsistent operational hours, as the location frequently closes early.
The language barrier with some employees adds to the frustration, affecting customer interactions. Overall, this Subway is viewed as a disappointing option for diners seeking quality service and a welcoming atmosphere, with many suggesting that alternative locations might be a more worthwhile choice.

I gave this restaurant a one-star rating for the food because, unfortunately, they never delivered the order I placed through the app. This was just the tip of the iceberg during my first and last experience at the Subway in Long Beach. I ordered two sandwiches for pickup and received a notification saying my order was ready (it was clearly marked as ready!). However, when I arrived, I was informed that they couldn't make one of my sandwiches because they "didn't have meat." This was confusing since both sandwiches I ordered contained meat, and I also saw them prepare a meat sandwich for another customer right before me! The staff refused to explain how they were out of meat when it was obvious they had some, and to make matters worse, the music in the restaurant was blasting so loudly that it was nearly impossible to hear them. They ultimately told us to cancel our order, but since it was marked as ready for pickup, we couldn't do that. Subway lacks a customer service phone number, only offering an email for support. This was the absolute worst experience I've ever paid for, and I didn't even get my sandwiches. I still haven't received a refund, and I refuse to return to Subway again—Jersey Mike's is far better, anyway.
Ask any broke-down ex-deli clerk with a drinking problem if there 's a right way and a wrong way to make a hero sandwich, he 'll tell you yes, and he 'll proceed to describe one of 3 things: 1) cut the bread lengthwise all the way through, 2) cut the bread lengthwise along the side which is slightly more curved--but not all the way through--so that the hero is like open, praying hands, or 3) the loaf is cored from above, with the knife moving in a short sawing motion, the long dorsal hat of the hero is lifted out, the interior of the bottom part of the loaf is scooped and then the loaf is reassembled minus the scoopings. There will be differences of opinion about the organization and selection of the hero 's contents, and I 'm not gonna get into that; but if we can keep the condiments to mustard, mayo, the dressings, then most deli clerks will agree that mustard goes on the side of the bread that touches the meat, the dressing goes on the side that touches the salad, and mayo can go on either. Now, you need to know all this because otherwise you can 't appreciate how lucky Long Beach is to have a Subway Sandwich Shop subsidized by the Department of Corrections and our reptilian overlords at the Rand Corporation, where over-medicated Mk Ultra victims in jumpsuits shuffle back and forth behind the spit-shield, openly practicing rare and (in some countries) outlawed methods of sandwich construction. Witness the culinary equivalent of a donkey show. As an added bonus, If you can throw change into the tip-box by the register, the employee who just molested your sandwich will freeze and a person I believe might be a trustee bolts out of the back room where they stack the unconscious ones and snatches up the money. The prisoners are motionless while she stands there counting the coins and panting, and then she runs back inside. This will happen each and every time you throw money in the box.
Close at 8/830 every night even tho they’re supposed to be open till 9 …staff will completely ignore u and make you wait while they make personal calls pretty unbelievable that no management has noticed them closing at 8/830 for months
I had an awful experience with the employees on April 15, 2024. They couldn't even be bothered to heat up bacon. It's clear they need to hire people who actually want to work—there are plenty of options available. The management seemed nonexistent, the floors were dirty, and there were hardly any customers; now I understand why. I will gladly take my business elsewhere to a place that values its customers. Edit: If you're visiting Long Beach and are craving Subway, do yourself a favor and head over the bridge instead. The staff would like you to think that your only option for contact is through their website, which only reflects their lack of care about the store. Just Google the 800 number for Subway instead—it's obvious that these issues have been ongoing at this location.
