I've dined here several times and each time the service is friendly, albeit a bit slow. It's never been especially busy, but the food is tasty and well prepared. My only complaint is on the lettuce wraps, where the leaves are chopped too small toactually use to wrap the contents, and some of the veggies seem haphazardly thrown in for filler. What Dawna Fay doesn't like about Otosan Sushi:
I?ve been coming here for a little bit now maybe 4 times total the last year or so. I went there with my family on Good Friday after a long week and arrived at 8p-8:05p only to be told sorry we are closed it?s our last table when the restaurant closes at8:30pm?? Restaurant closes at 8:30 not 8p why turn people away on a Friday?? Seems ridiculous for a sushi restaurant that neverhas a wait or look to be that busy at a... View all feedback.
Good sushi for this area, lots of special and classic rolls. Also hot dinner entrees and drinks. Light atmosphere with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. For not being very upscale, it's more expensive than some
I really wanted to like this place. I wouldn't normally leave one star, but having an expensive dinner on top of slow service and leaving hungry was too much for me. It took a really long time to get anyone to first come to our table, but the restaurant wasn't even busy. There were only three other tables seated in the whole place. We ordered cocktails and they were overpriced and tasted like fruit juice without any complexity or interest. My friend asked the server if the rolls were big and she said they were. She ordered a California roll with rice paper instead of seaweed and after waiting too long, they didn't bring the correct one. Once the right one came, we noticed how tiny it was for $18. I got the sashimi combination and the pieces were smaller than I'd expected and were more expensive than other places that gave more generous pieces. We waited so long for the check that we had to ask a different server for it. I ended the meal still hungry and the check was too big for that to be the situation. I left feeling confused what I had just paid for. It wasn't the service or the quality of food--nor was it the portions.I'll never go back there. In fact, every time I walk by the place, I get mad remembering the experience. Just ask my boyfriend.
Good sushi, big portions. Went on a weekday night so they weren't too busy. Service was great and the waiter checked up on us multiple times. Will be coming back
Visited again, we were the only people there on a Tuesday around noon for some reason, the food was pretty good and great service.
I ordered wrong. I'm confident if you're ordering fresh fish, you may not have complaints, however I'm not eating raw fish at this time and I was very disappointed. I got the seaweed salad which was overwhelmingly full of sesame seeds without a hint of vinegar and I found it unpleasant. The crispy rice was cold and a hard brick that I could barely bite into covered in a wet tasteless blob of crab. Mistake. I really think it was my fault for ordering crispy crab because plenty of crispy tuna was going out so I'm sure other people enjoyed. The umami rice was delicious.
