Malarkey - Long Beach

A little late but I wanted to take a minute to thank the team Malaineys Grill for their exceptional service. They were able to accommodate a 40+ party with minutes notice. For context we were a wedding party who were looking for for a space to get together after the ceremony, with little hope we set out to find a place to accommodate as best a we could and this place did not disappoint! We were looking for a place for happy hour in the Long Beach/Seal Beach area. Malainey's seemed like a good choice. My first surprise is there was plenty of free and easy parking. I was expecting to have to pay for parking so that's a big plus. Mulainey's is in a marina area with other shops and restaurants. There's plenty of seating and we were even allowed to sit next to a window with a great view of the marina. The happy hour menu is pretty basic, but you can certainly find something to your liking as far as food goes. We had two tacos, $4 each. They were really good and they don't skimp on the meat or ingredients. We also had the tomato basil pizza. $12 It was a good size for sharing and it had an excellent garlic flavor. Wait, it gets better. When you check in on Yelp you get a coupon for free french fries, and they're good, too! The drink deals aren't great, though. They only have two beers on the HH menu, PBR and Coors Light. $5.75 for a pint. Well drinks are $7 on the hh menu. I ordered a Coke and it was $4.95. Kinda' pricey for a Coke, and no free refill. The service was so-so. It took a long time to get our drinks, but we didn't mind. The atmosphere was nice and it was a nice place to hang out for a chat. Also, they have plenty of screens to watch whatever sports events are going on at the moment. They have live music that starts at 7:00 PM. The band was excellent...so good I got up and danced! I'd go back for hh and some good live music for sure!

We stopped here for lunch because my wife is a big fan of potato skins and we heard this place has good ones. They weren't wrong, the skin had a little too much potato in it for me but my wife thought they were very good. I thought the tasted fine also but couldn't get over the amount of potato still in the skin. We also ordered the corned beef San which (pictured) with French fries, and the beef dip with chips. I cannot express how good the items were. No complaints at all. We highly recommend this place.
