Louisiana Charlie's - Long Beach

This time, I ordered based on Google recommendations. The fried catfish was delicious, just as I remembered. However, the large shrimp with shells (without heads) was quite disappointing. The smell was overwhelming and gave off a strong, unpleasant fishy odor, indicating that the shrimp wasn't fresh. Even when I tried to rinse it off in the sauce, the smell remained. The Creole jambalaya tasted as though it had been pre-made several days prior; it lacked the freshness I expected. As for the peach cobbler, it seemed like it had been mixed with something else, and I barely found two pieces of peach in it. I do feel that their fried items taste better when ordered for takeout. I attempted to call and voice my concerns about the smell but didn't receive an answer, which is understandable considering it was a Friday night. Additionally, the mac and cheese was dry and lacked the cheesy flavor that should have been there; I even tried to add some cheese to salvage it. Overall, while my initial experience was great, the quality of the food this time has left me disappointed.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and based on the reviews and photos I had seen, I knew we had to give it a try. It turned out to be the best decision! I had the spicy chicken sandwich, the shrimp po' boy, and the garlic pepper wings. Oh, and the Cajun fries were just amazing! I can't wait to come back!

The ordering process is rather perplexing. Guests have to wait behind a velvet rope, which feels quite upscale, but then they are directed to a counter without any table service. You cannot order food directly at your table; everything must be placed at the front, and then you wait for your food while seated. You can sip on beverages while you wait, but service staff won’t take orders at the table. Moreover, they do not provide a restroom; instead, patrons are directed to a public restroom on the street. There's even a sign indicating that guests shouldn’t linger for more than 75 minutes, which is disappointing considering the cost. I’ve experienced much better service at places that charge five times less. Speaking of prices, while I understand the costs associated with food, I won't dive into the pricing for snow crab and shrimp. However, I do want to mention the drink prices. My wife ordered a Pepsi, which came in a can with a small glass. That can is something you could easily obtain for a dollar at a convenience store, and I know they purchase it for much less. Overall, if I decide to return, I would likely stick to ordering just water as nothing else seems worth the price. I would recommend the seafood, Cajun fries, and brisket; our family ordered the brisket and enjoyed it immensely. Let that speak for itself.

The service was fast and a little friendly, depends only on who they get. the atmosphere was beautiful. we sat outside with a great view.

Excellent restaurant for the taste of Creole food, great Gumbo,Shrimp,Creole Jambalaya, and Crawfish Étouffée my favorite. Their are other tasty dishes on the menu so you can't go wrong ordering from the menu. The ordering process is non contact, and other words you download their app. and place your order while they prepare your order. The process is very quick and the view of the ocean from Long Beach is nice. Check them out you won't be disappointed.
