Contribute FeedbackVerdi, located within the Royal Albert Hall, seemed like the perfect spot for a pre-theatre meal. However, many diners were disappointed by the lack of atmosphere and rushed service. Despite some tasty dishes, the quick turnover of tables and lack of live music left much to be desired. Some even found the lack of restroom facilities and disruptive street drinkers to be a major downside. On the other hand, those who visited during a special event with live music had a much more enjoyable experience, with great food and a pleasant ambiance. Overall, Verdi seems to be hit or miss depending on the timing of your visit and your expectations.
The food at this restaurant is outstanding, from appetizers to pasta, pizza to dessert. I highly recommend trying the slowly cooked duck Ragu. The staff was attentive and courteous. We visited on a Friday night and enjoyed live entertainment which added to the ambiance of the restaurant. The only suggestion I have for improvement is to play more familiar songs to enhance the overall experience.
The restaurant does not have restroom facilities for customers. Customers must use public toilets shared with other individuals who may be consuming alcohol on the street. Some of these individuals are antisocial, such as punks and freaks. As a result, it is not advisable to dine at this restaurant.
We recently visited a restaurant for Free Music Friday and were impressed by the beautiful atmosphere. They offered gluten-free pizza and gnocchi, which were tasty but not outstanding. We would recommend this spot for a casual meal or for those looking for a unique dining experience.
Booked Meal Friday's music event for 8 o'clock. Pianist didn't show up. No music. (Not even background music). Ambience poor, as most people seemed to be there for the event. We were looking forward to the food event as we were only 4 days in London. Wouldn't really recommend cheese plate because it's barely enough for a person to never share anything. The main meal was good. The staff was pleasant. However, the manager did not point out that the pianist came only after 9 a.m. Customers seemed to go shortly after. A disappointing evening.
Booked this restaurant as on the website and on the menu) it states Live Jazz on Friday evenings. Thought this would add to the ambience along with being part of the Royal Albert Hall. We arrived for our booking 8pm and were shown to the left hand-side of the restaurant which really did not have much character. On enquiring about the Jazz, I was informed that there wasn't any that night! Although very tasty, our food was served incredibly quickly and it was then pointed out that the kitchen closed at 9pm so we'd need to order any desserts. Probably a great place if attending a performance, but not for a relaxing meal.
