What Florence Murphy doesn't like about The Seashell of Lisson Grove:
this restaurant continues to rest on its laurels, to its own part that I suspect. it is no longer space for us native we came to our booking, but were waited by an administrative person who obviously believes that they show us in the right direction for the table or even pointer. the young man who was our waiter was excellent, attentive and seemed to enjoy what he was confusing was the fact that we were the only peop... Feeling at home when you walk through the door. Friendly staff. Great food.l and excellent customer service. Thanks Liliana and compliments to the chef.
Travelled a long way with high hopes, only for them to be dashed by soggy chips. Fresh fish, although the batter was soggy. We would rate it a 6/10 (at a push). If you want to have 9.9/10 fish and chips then try number 5 on the “Time Out” list.
A dreadful disappointment! After our long awaited reservation, the anemic chips, soggy fish, ghastly mushy peas, etc., we will never return to the abhorrent Seashell!!
What a shame! This used to be THE fish chip shop we used to hold events there as it’s reputation was amazing but my, how it’s changed. Wrong order, twice, waiting time horrendous, and the food was awful. We don’t even think the cod was cod thin tilapia more like. Very disappointing indeed.
I went here for lunch. It wasn't too bad actually. I had the fish and chips which were average. Would still recommend.
