Staff and service excellent. Good choice on menu . Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Prices reasonable for a London restaurant. Would recommend especially if you like cricket as this is the theme of restaurant. View all feedback.
What Harry B doesn't like about The Potting Shed Bar & Restaurant:
The setting for this restaurant is fantastic. The atmosphere is great and often there is a man playing the guitar. However, the food was slightly less great. Our meals lacked in flavour and the choice was quite poor. I wouldn’t get the shellfish stew it was very liquidy and didn’t really have anything to it. The fish and chips was probably the best option! View all feedback.
Cute little hole in a wall that is great for all who enjoy cricket paraphernalia and a full English breakfast. there hash browns are the cool kids in the breakfast social circle, it is important to be picky about them and the potting shed’s hash browns are definitiw up there! cool, sweet and quirky.
Under the dorset square hotel is this jewel of a place called potting shed. just a few minutes from the railway station baker street, this English brasserie is a hidden shade when they ask me the restaurant is designed by the very talented owner for the firmdale hotel group, kit kemp. also known for the famous charlotte street hotel and recently, ham yard in piccadilly zirkus. when entering the underground facility they will notice that there is a heavy thema of cricket strikes and in particular a fairly large wall of 198 small cup lamps from cricket players and their sprouts. very cleverly designed so that only a certain amount of this light up to a...more
The potting shed bar and restaurant in the center of baker street and the dorsert square offer a great and cozy atmosphere in one of the wonderful london hotels- dorset square hotel. the nearest railway stations are baker street and marylebone railway and subway station. the kitchen in restaurant is mostly English with Eastern European style. I would recommend to start with smoked salmon and cranberries or with the suppe of the day and continue with wild mushroom risotto or try their amazing potting shed burger with french fries as main meal, combined with bottle french white wine from their a la carte menu.
Very nice place in a slightly obscure but beautiful place dorset sq at baker st. it is located in the hotel dorset sq, which is part of the ferndale group, owner of the similarly sweet and cozy soho hotel (refuel restaurant) and charlotte st hotel. pots shed is down in a winter garden, nice little bar and small restaurant that makes when feeling completely exclusive. very high-standing decoration with pastels, reminds me a bit of the fountain. easy curious is the cricket photos and flea mouse. this was a gentleman club before, where visit grill teams I stayed my secretary here shortly before christmas to thank her for all her hard work in the course of the year
This is a place where you get robbed easily. Low quality food combined with low quality service, and this all is for a fortune. I see it is one of the favourites of Tripadvisor, but I have no idea why. We intended to have a traditional British breakfast there. When the staff in service realised that we also needed toast the breakfast had already got cold. The portion was meagre compared to the price, the used raw material was cheap and the late toast was burnt. The only positive thing I can point out that the toilet was very tidy. You'd better avoid this place. Some cheap traditional pubs offer much more.
