The English Grill - London

This was a wonderful experience, 5 out of 5! Charming place with great food and great service.

We arrived on time at 17:45 told all staff that we were going to a play, at 19:30. The service was slow, abominable totally unacceptable, resulting in us having to cancel desert, as we had to go. We told the staff this told them that we weren't paying the service charge. The restaurant wasn't overly busy at the time [as it only opened at 17:30], so it's difficult to pinpoint why service was so slow completely sub standard.

It took FOREVER for my food to come out. There were only 6 tables occupied and I was there for 2 hours. My food was dry and we were given food we did not order. The service was ridiculous- people just walked around and talked and did not do anything. 2 hours of my life i won’t get back.

We had a great dining experience last night. We started with the cured smoked salmon and had steaks for our main course. Everything was delicious, especially the perfectly cooked steaks. I even sampled the selection of sea salts on the meat.

The restaurant was a good find, the staff was very helpful
