was in london with the family, when suddenly the wind began to blow and to what happiness we were near the hitalgar square and thought South Indian should be our retaliation, as it is warm a d full quality. the waiting period of 40 minutes is much, but even better than close to dishoom. we had dosas, idli and masala chai. it was in fact an authentic experience: and our rettung from cold weather. What Deval P doesn't like about Saravana Bhavan Leicester Square:
The prices here are quite steep. Honestly, it's often better to make dosa or idli at home rather than dine here. The South Indian thali is priced at £18.90, while the idli vada sambar costs £8.70. I take pride in Indian cuisine, but I recommend going to Sarvana Bhavan in East Ham instead, as it's more affordable. The taste is decent, and both sambar and chutney are offered in unlimited quantities. View all feedback.
I came all the way to London just to have a taste of HSB! The meals were exquisite, brilliant for the price paid, the taste was next to none and the quantity was enough to fill the stomach for days. The best part of the meals is that they serve this all day. The sambar was amazing, the rasam was out of the world and the chakrapongal was OMFG yum! I have been visiting this place for almost 9 years now and the quality has remained high consistently. I can't wait to visit the restaurant again soon.
We had the paneer manchurian which wasn’t tasty. The paper roast dosa and paper masala dosa was tasty but we had to ask for another helping of chutneys and daal, they should provide a lot more than as you can see from the picture. Customer service was good. Place was cramped as the tables were quite close together and the tables were only the length of the dosas.
Its been months I moved to UK from India. It is bit struggle to find vegetarian food here but luckily I found this restaurant where they have good variety of delicious foods. I ordered North Indian Thali, it's taste reminded me old Indian taste. It was delicious and nostalgic.
I had the dinner with my family and friends. Food was delicious and we really enjoyed our food. Their customer service is really good, very polite and humble. Overall amazing experience.
Table Booking required. Waiting area outside. It can take upto 20 mins to get a table for walkins. Can visit early around 5:30-6pm for less waiting time. It can get bit warm inside if it gets crowded. Steam idli, medu wada and variety of dosa along with chutney does taste good. Dosa are crispy and idly is soft. Sambhar could taste better. Tip: They serve less quantity of chutney but have a refill system, so remember to call for it if required. They also sell Indian dry snacks, sweets and savoury. Way of serving is different at other branches. Even serving plates and quantity differs according to location. Very close to real south Indian taste. Worth trying. Sanitizer is near billing counter only.
