The food was decent we got the meaty feast and the salmon one the food got cold fast which was a down side but it still tasted nice maybe cos crepes are thin ? Will try again but maybe the pancakes for breakfast. The service though was lovely, they explained the menu and we got the food soon after ordering. The portions were big so you may need to walk it off after! View all feedback.
What Barry Anderson doesn't like about My Old Dutch - Holborn:
This was my 2nd visit but I find the savoury crepes a little underwhelming. There is a variety of different toppings for the large crepe but I feel that adding them to the crepe doesn't really make it anything special. The sweet crepes/pancakes however are delicious as they should be and the interior of the restaurant is very pretty and colourful with flowers on the ceiling etc. So I would recommend this place more f... Visited My Old Dutch in Holborn with a few friends last week, it was my first ever time eating there, the food was divine, not a foot wrong, taste was beyond expectation, the price as well was not too bad for a London restaurant. However my only negative to take from my visit was the very poor service from the waiting staff, slow and uninterested is probably the best way to describe them, waited minutes are sitting down before having our orders taken, then after the meal waited minutes before getting the bill, and then after that we were waiting minutes before we could even pay (as well only to be told it was cash only which was not advertised anywhere).Food appearance and atmosphere
I love My Old Dutch, there's a great range to choose from everything from hoisin duck to goats cheese or asparagus pancakes in the savoury selection and waffles or pancakes with fruit/chocolate/ice cream galore for dessert. (If you have room!)Service can be a little slow but they're never rude and I've only ever had one error in years. The menu never seems to change but has enough options on it to keep it interesting and the servings are very generous. I always struggle to finish mine!
Really lovely restaurant near to the hustle and bustle of Covent Garden. Enormous meals for very good prices. You have to be really hungry to get through a starter and main here! What me and friends sometimes do is get a savoury and sweet pancake and share it between us so you get some of each. Also, the milkshakes are amazing!! It can get quite busy at weekends so if you want a table for more than it may be a good idea to book.
A really cool place been a few times and even though i live about hour away it's well worth the trip. chilli on a pancake! hell yeah!
I went to this branch today after reading the reviews below – they really are as big as your face! But I found them surprisingly okay to get through considering the portions. I ordered the pear and cinnamon with ice cream and had a delicious tropical smoothie (which tasted a lot like “innocent strawberry and banana” but I saw her blending it so it was tropical even if it didn’t taste it My boyfriend had a savoury pancake called seafood which he completely devoured. The service was a little passive considering it was very empty but I guess it was nice to be left alone. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and will be visiting again in the future to try out the savoury pancakes.
