As a Filipino, I can confidently say this is the best Filipino restaurant in North London, and possibly all of London (I'm still trying out many places). The atmosphere is relaxed, and everything from the food to the desserts is fantastic. My favorite dish was the grilled pork belly, followed closely by the chicken adobo. The coconut rice was also delightful, and the variety of sauces complemented the dishes perfectl... View all feedback.
What 3Major A (2 1 year ago on Google doesn't like about Mama’s Kubo:
The service and staff deserve more than 5 stars! We visited this restaurant twice and enjoyed the flavors, but we found the portion sizes to be small for the price. Even the bowl of rice seemed insufficient. On our second visit, we ordered the beef rib priced at £20 from the day's menu. While the flavor was good, it was mostly fat, and the little meat that was there was incredibly tough to cut, even with a dull knife... View all feedback.
Recommended by a friend who recently visited the restaurant. we decided to try it for Sunday dinner. after 18 clock without reservation, the restaurant was busy, but the waitress could accommodate us. the first impressions of mama kubos were very cozy and very friendly. we ordered for appetizer pork susig and kubo calamari, which is preferred in their own sweet and chili sauce, which was definitely recommended. for the main course we had one of the specials of the day the Kubo cows breeze, which was slowly cooked for 2 hours and served with pumpkin and brokkoli. would definitely recommend it, as it was really tender and juicy. we also had the pancite that was in order. portions were so much luck that we could take some away. to dessert we had the halo halo which was in order, but quite expensive. even though the part was great again, so they can share one between 2 people. overall we enjoyed our dinner and would come back to taste the other specials and desserts. so we recommend this restaurant to taste an authentic Filipino food!
Great service and delicious food. Not much more to ask for! Couldn't take more pics since we ate too fast.... particularly great crispy pata
You can tell a Filipino restaurant is good if it's packed with filipino customers Everything about this place was nostalgic, it was almost as if you had just popped over to your cousins house for lunch We got 2 starters, 2 Mains and 2 drinks this cost us little over £58 service incl. The portions were good, just the right amount to avoid that bloated feeling. Everything was delicious, presented well and service was amazing! If you're a filipino missing home, someone who wants to try something new or anything in between I can't reccomend this place highly enough. We will definitely be back, thank you!
What a fantastic meal. I’d recommend looking to see what the specials are as you’ll get something truly amazing and very different from most places you’ll visit. The flavours are intense and the portions are generous. Staff are friendly and we weren’t rushed at all. It was a lovely Friday night meal where we were able to sit and enjoy intense flavours that definitely leave me thinking about new flavour combinations.
This is my favourite restaurants in London by a mile. Been multiple times and the food is just outstanding. Perfectly cooked chicken, crispy skin and balanced adobo sauce. The Kare Kare is amazing: great peanut flavour and smoky hints from the aubergine. Coconut rice is really flavourful and complemented everything. Amazing service as well and fairly priced. Absolutely recommend the trip here, you won’t be disappointed.
