However, the Oriental Afternoon Tea at Le Chinois in the Millennium Hotel in Knightsbridge was highly praised by visitors. The unique concept, quality food, accommodating hosts, and lovely surroundings made for a fantastic experience. With a variety of options for different budgets, authentic food, and excellent service, this restaurant seems to cater to a wide range of preferences. The Dim Sum High Tea was particularly popular, offering delicious Chinese nibbles in a beautiful setting. Overall, it seems that Le Chinois is a great spot for those looking for a nice dining experience in the area.
Attention diners, please note that the restaurant advertised on their website may not be accurately represented. The restaurant is currently closed and has moved to the hotel bar area. Upon arrival, we were informed that the restaurant was closed due to a lack of staff, even though we had made a reservation through Thefork.
We had a reservation for 4 people on a Saturday evening. Since we arrived early, we decided to grab a coffee at the bar located on the ground floor, opposite the reception desk. The restaurant itself is on the first floor and we immediately noticed that it was quite empty. It seemed like the hotel guests were venturing out to other dining options in Knightsbridge, which has no shortage of restaurants. The restaurant has an open plan layout with suitable decor and lighting for a cozy and intimate evening. It became apparent that they were short-staffed that night, which resulted in a slight delay in the service. However, the staff were pleasant and attentive. For starters, we ordered Squid in salt and pepper and chicken dumplings. Both dishes were tasty, with the squid cooked perfectly. The sauce accompanying the chicken dumplings was a bit too salty and vinegary, but the dumplings themselves were good. For the main course, we had Chicken with ginger and spring onion, sweet and sour pork, prawns in black bean sauce, and egg fried rice. All the dishes were flavorful, with perfectly cooked prawns and tender chicken. For dessert, we tried the apple tart and Sago pudding with chilled mango pieces in a light mango sauce. They were both delicious and capped off a pleasant evening. We didn't feel rushed at all and ended up staying for quite a while after our meal. Overall, we had a lovely and peaceful evening and will definitely return to this restaurant in the future.
There is no better way to spend a rainy afternoon in London than by indulging in a DIM SUM High Tea at this restaurant. For only 28 pounds, you can enjoy a glass of champagne, a selection of nice Chinese teas, and a divine assortment of Chinese nibbles including Crispy Chicken Strips, Crispy Shredded Duck Spring Rolls, Sauteed Prawns, BBQ Pork Buns, and more. The food was so delicious that I wished I could eat it all over again, despite feeling full. I didn't want the experience to end. Located in the Millennium Hotel in Knightsbridge, this restaurant is a definite must-visit for anyone in the area.
If you’re there with groupon then I think they basically offer you a set menu taken from the local takeaway. We recommend either the salty with egg fried rice or the tasteless with egg fried rice. Tried to offer some feedback. Wasn’t necessarily expecting anything, just wanted to let them know. The guy got defensive and explained to us the official temperature you keep wine at which was.. illuminating..? Was given the groupon as a present so we had the joy of paying 12.5% for the cost of the gift and the warm bottle of white.. which in reality was paying 25% for a bottle of warm white wine. Realised this on the way back so gave them a ring. Probably advise against this as their semi-adolescent, bitter senior staff member yelled down the phone that I was a groupon booking and quibbling a tip. Whole experience was a joy. It’s what I should expect as a groupon customer.
Took some good friends through Groupon and awful service, being told that waitress too young to serve alcohol...tiny portions and not very good either..how on Earth this restaurant got two rosettes is beyond me...Never again...complained to Groupon and given credit...
