Amazing food and service. Had an awesome birthday. Staff attentive. Great ambience. Excellent choice of veggie food. Definitely go again. It’s not cheap! But worth it View all feedback.
What NIKNNAM doesn't like about Kai:
Extremely slow and unattentive service… good food not amazing Excellent roasted Sea Bass, squid was average, Taiwanese eggplant below average, mocktail average, View all feedback.
I love Kai. It is one of the best Chinese restaurants in London. The Crispy Duck and Hot Sour Soup are both excellent.
The food was excellent and the staff was very attentive. They also had a good variety of wines to choose from.
We opted for the Peking Duck to share 1st course was delicious but the 2nd course was tough which was disappointing
There has been a lot of buzz surrounding this restaurant, and some of the dishes definitely lived up to the hype. The wasabi prawns were absolutely delicious. The duck appetizer and main course were good, but not outstanding. The duck brain was an unconventional offering that was served with a hint of challenge in their smiles. The salt and pepper squid was pleasant but not extraordinary, and the Chilean Sea Bass was also good. The steamed rice and long life noodles were decent but nothing exceptional. The desserts looked beautiful but fell short in taste. Unfortunately, the staff began cleaning and making noise with plates and cutlery before we had finished dessert, giving the impression it was time to leave. We felt somewhat neglected until the bill came, at which point we felt pressured to increase the service charge. The sommelier was knowledgeable and the wine we chose was enjoyable. Overall, I am glad I tried Kai, but I don't see myself returning. I prefer establishments like Yauatcha and Hutong, which offer delicious food at more reasonable prices. I believe Kai may be better suited for companies entertaining clients on expense accounts, who would likely be pleased with their choice.
Can’t say the good was bad but it wasn’t worth the price. Service was a bit of a gamble to be Michelin (plates didn’t come out together) We hadn’t yet finished the main dish and the waitress immediately asked to clean the dishes and started without waiting for a yes. Overpriced
