Contribute FeedbackThe restaurant in question has received a mix of reviews, with some customers expressing disappointment in both the food and service they received during their visits. Complaints range from slow or inattentive service to rushed dining experiences, with some diners feeling as though the staff were stressed or disinterested. However, there were also positive comments about the delicious food and pleasant atmosphere, with some guests praising the attentive and friendly waiting staff. It seems that while some patrons had a less than ideal experience, others found the restaurant to be a great place for a special meal or evening out. Ultimately, the decision to dine at this restaurant may depend on individual preferences for service and overall dining experience.
I had an enjoyable evening with friends. It was particularly busy night before national lockdown and I don’t think there should have been that many people in the restaurant. However, the food was delicious and the staff were nice. I didn’t like the effort to move us on after It made the eating so rushed and we felt pressured I felt kind of sick by the end of the evening having the courses so close together
Everything was OK but it was a pity we felt so rushed. It's hard to relax and enjoy what one goes to a restaurant for the food, wine and a friend's or friends' company. We were continually asked how we were 'doing'', usually in the middle of a conversation. This became intrusive and irritating. One of the golden rules of good service is that a waiter waits for the appropriate moment to ask if everything is all right if he must. Even when it's done with discretion, I find the habit obtrusive. A good waiter or maitre d' should be able to gauge whether customers are happy and being well looked after without having to constantly ask for confirmation like a needy lover. That said, it was clear that the staff were under pressure to conform to Covid rules and cope with the approaching lockdown. In the circumstances they coped very well. As our last hoorah before a month's lockdown however, our dinner was disappointing and depressingly average. None of this would make me not recommend The Ivy Chelsea Garden. It's a lovely restaurant
Best Ivy visit yet. The service was top notch. Food is always amazing
Eating in the garden at The Ivy, Chelsea is one of life’s real treats
We were stuck in the back under an umbrella and basically froze! Otherwise all good
