The food here was amazing with really good range of flavours which I've never had before! Portions were a decent size and there were at the time 3 vegan mains options. As a group we had one of each and everyone loved it. A little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for
If happy cow let you rate 5 star for non-veggie only places I would! 100% recommend this place the most delicious and well prepared food I have had (eating out) in ages. A dedicated vegetarian column on the menu with 3 vegan options; all very tasty (we ordered 1 each). Definitely recommend
A welcoming restaurant over three levels with a banging Dancehall soundtrack (e.g. the super catchy and situation relevant Rice and Peas by Chi Ching Ching). Caribbean food is well worth a closer look for its plant based Ital diet of the Rastafari movement. Don 't be fooled by the laid back rum shack styling here this is accomplished cooking, well presented and quickly served, kicking off with the sweet potato patties which come as three light croquettes on savoury callaloo spiced with Scotch Bonnet and (guessing) cloves, with coconut lending a buttery richness rather than flavour. The vegetable curry is described in the menu 'with dumplings and steamed rice, bullet dumplings '. This is not editorial confusion. There are dumplings in the comfortingly rich curry, then rice and more satisfying, salty fried dumplings on the side. What 's not to love? The mock jerk chicken is some of the most convincing on the vegan scene borderline worrying. A good sweet potato fry is hard to achieve but these guys have nailed the non flaccid cut. Be sure to get the hot sauce dips for them. Cocktails are good value with a fresh pineapple garnish that brings holiday vibes to the table, but they could up the ratio of citrus to sweetness for ultimate zingy refreshment on a warm night.
If HappyCow allowed ratings for non-vegetarian places, I would give this restaurant 5 stars! I highly recommend this place as it serves the most delicious and well-prepared food I have ever had. They have a dedicated vegetarian section on the menu with 3 vegan options, all of which are very tasty (we tried one). I definitely recommend this restaurant.
This welcoming restaurant spans three levels and features a lively dancehall soundtrack. The Caribbean-inspired menu includes plant-based dishes in line with the Rastafari movement. Don't be fooled by the laid-back atmosphere – the food here is expertly cooked, well-presented, and served promptly. Highlights include the sweet potato patties served with callaloo and a flavorful sauce made with Scotch Bonnet peppers and cloves. The herbal curry, described on the menu as being served with dumplings and rice, actually features dumplings in the curry and additional roasted dumplings on the side. The Mock Ruck Chicken is a standout dish, with convincing flavors that appeal to both vegans and meat-eaters. The sweet potato fritters are a must-try, especially when paired with the house hot sauce. Cocktails with a tropical twist add a fun touch to the dining experience, but could benefit from a higher ratio of citrus to sweetness for a more refreshing taste on warm evenings.
