Miura - Lomita

What an incredible experience! The sushi here is authentic and delicious. The Grandmakase is truly unique and will not let you down. This might just be my new favorite sushi restaurant in the world. The flavors, quality, and portion sizes are all exceptional. I can’t wait to return for a special occasion. My only critique is that the paprika could be of better quality.

A pleasant and secure omakase sushi experience that features all the classic selections. The fish cuts are of high quality, and the rice is exceptional. There’s a decent variety of beer and shochu available. While it's not the cheapest option, it's also not exorbitantly priced. This is a traditional sushi bar, so don't expect any mayo, hot sauce, or fusion rolls. The atmosphere is authentically Japanese.

Absolutely fresh and top-notch sushi! My Japanese partner and I have explored nearly every sushi spot from Long Beach to Manhattan Beach, as well as countless places in Japan. This hidden gem in a Lomita strip mall is easy to miss if you're not specifically looking for it. Be sure to seek it out and make a reservation if possible; however, the staff will do their best to accommodate you even if you don't. The sushi here is incredibly fresh and seasonal, with each dish prepared with great care. The locals truly appreciate authentic Japanese cuisine. If you’re unsure what to order and want a taste of their freshness and artistry, I highly recommend trying the Chirashi. I'm also looking forward to indulging in a kaiseki meal here sometime as a special treat, and I’ll update my review then.

After reopening under the same name, new cook is fantastic. Much more friendly to the males and definitely to the challenge of keeping Miura's reputation high. I'm looking forward to many returns. Almost reluctant to post, but its efforts should be rewarded with a successful restaurant.
