Description

Located in the Chicago area, this charming, family-friendly brunch spot draws praise for friendly staff, generous portions and strong coffee. Signature dishes like Rock Steak, French toast and chicken-and-waffles often satisfy, and pastries taste fresh despite not being made on-site. Criticisms include inconsistent temperature and seasoning, fragile pancakes, spotty table attention and higher prices. Recent improvements hint at steadily better quality, making it a worthwhile choice for hearty appetites and visitors seeking a cozy, casual breakfast experience.

The staff was wonderful, and the food was delightful. Although the pastries aren't made in-house, they still tasted fresh, just like everything else on the menu.

It's amazing! This place is ideal for those who want to indulge in generous portions—it’s quite a challenge to finish everything. The staff is also very friendly.

The server was friendly, but the food was lacking in flavor. I ordered the chocolate crepes, hash browns, and country fried steak. Unfortunately, the steak tasted like something pulled from a microwave dinner, both in appearance and flavor. Overall, the meal was not worth the price. I wouldn't consider returning since there are far better options nearby.

I visited Maple Cafe for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Unfortunately, all of our food arrived only lukewarm and seemed like it had been prepared in large batches and kept in warming trays for a while. I won’t be returning, as there are plenty of other great dining options nearby.

Great French toast! Not the best service but I did leave my sunglasses behind and they helped me get them back which was awesome, I just wish they had refilled our water a bit more. My friend had the chicken and waffles and she said it was great. I had the French toast breakfast with nutella and that was pretty darn good. The bacon was okay and the eggs were actually very good, the fruit wasn't very fresh but I'm also not the best judge of that so maybe it was! I would eat here again it's just not my first choice. Very charming though, family friendly, no weird smells, not the worst place you could go.
