Great option for Malaysian food. My husband is Malaysian and we both miss authentic food in Brisbane. View all feedback.
What Mertie Hane doesn't like about Taste of Penang:
Eating here in summer while the sun is still out is not the smartest idea. The little restaurant cops the full brunt of the Western sun and there is nowhere to hide. Thankfully the restaurant offers chilled water I quite liked the ordering system, tick the boxes and write your desired level of spice then take the paper inside to place the order and pay. It was logical and meant mistakes and misunderstandings were les... View all feedback.
As great as ever! the owner is still the same sweet as he opened the load before. He reminded me in all these years as a repeater. the noodles are my fav, although I have shrunk in size, so I got the red and dhal for something else that was perfect! perfect size for an average / small eater but the prices have been off this website since the beginning of the year I had forgotten. only cash. so I told the owner he had a new menu.
I love this place. It's pretty hard to get to the weekend place. I tend to come to lunch for weeks. nice wok hey' and tasty aromas from the kitchen I enjoyed everything I had here in the round. good heat on the food they ask to make mild. penang har mee is my favorite. I also like to try the kueh the only disadvantage is that it is a little priced for a regular lunch for me. I personally find it hard to eat here often when I try to find places with lunch specialties. but when I'm here, I'm glad I came back. I have not been Malaysian or even in penang, but it is definitiw on my personal taste there is a public toilet that does not...read more
Great option for Malaysian eating. my man is Malaysian and we both miss authentic eating in brisbane as with other reviews I am the best kway teow in brisbane nice char to nudel. I just wish the noodles were wider and there was a bit more sausage prawn mee was nice and delicious. Eat comes fast and hot. it is literally a hole in the wall, so they reduce their expectations, but who needs walls, if this is the chewing gum they also have cough, but it sells fast still I am again!
It was just here once, as we were told, that you were more infamous. but we found her eating very fat. will not be rushed back soon, but can give it another one than we did not manage to try their kuih kuih.
July After planning to dine at Tobaki Korean BBQ my brother-in-law says he would prefer to dine at Taste of Penang which is metres away. We sit at a vacant table and I order five dishes to try It is quite busy tonight and it is minutes before the Har Mee (Prawn Noodle) and Char Kueh Teow are served. Unlike my last meal here, the Har Mee serving is once again a full bowl of noodles. Rating: The Char Kueh Teow serving is larger than last month's serving. And the noodles are delicious with the fragrant wok hei aroma. Rating: The Lobak tonight is the most authentic I have tasted in Brisbane. Rating: The Chicken Satay is well seasoned and is...read more
