Simmering 39 degrees in Brisbane today so we were looking forward to dinner at Sunnybank Plaza's Golden Lane. We arrived early before 6pm and were told the restaurant was booked out. Unbelievable! As my girlfriend had her mind set on a Cantonese meal with steamed rice we walked to Suncorp a hundred metres away. The new owners of Suncorp have been operating this restaurant for 2 years. Everyone truly had a sense of culture as we celebrated the New Year, the Lion Dance added to the atmosphere. The banquet was of high quality, the portion sizes were adequate for the volume of people. The highlight that people mentioned was the Lobster in Cheese sauce. Everyone experienced positive feelings and emotions as the night was the first time many had experienced CNY.The year of the Rooster has started off with fantastic enthusiasm. Thank you very much Suncrop Restaurant!
Not bad. I come here for lunch special all the time. Its cheap under $10 for a dish with drink. Hot chinese tea and spacious. Dinner is alright, always come here for dinner with the family. Cant say its the best but its alright good for value.
They do reasonable roast duck and some decent seafood dishes, but can be a little pricey for these items. Other dishes are okay, I wouldn't say this place really stands out with the stiff competition around Sunnybank, but it's pretty decent food.
