Nix & Mix Grill` - Logan City

Very very tasty, quick, and affordable Paris is fond of fried onions and this place is no exception.

OK they have great choices with different types of toppings but nothing too amazing with the taste factor.

This is a place that knows how to suffice all late night cravings for anyone enjoying the streets of Paris.

Great fresh food, generous serving size awesome customer service. Definitely worth going to and if not get it delivered. I particularly love the lamb souvlaki wrap.

Several times beforehand I have been in the vicinity, more for another bit of business - but that doesn't matter. From what I recall, this place has been one I have seen that has popped up. The whole outlay is really simple, and it is practically takeaway. Hidden in the Village, which is just adjacent to Garden City, Nix and Mix is a relatively new addition to this precinct and not unlike quite a bit that is near by. It ain't bad what I had, and some luck will help it along with something that is actually affordable for once with the students. As planning nights out or meetings with people go, as it can be expected from time to time something goes awry which means that it has to be replanned at the last minute. That was with only a few minute to 6 at night, in which made me not have any back-up at that point. Knowing what to do with little skipping of a beat, back onto Menulog and after a little look around this entry was both new and something a tad different to the norm. Maybe the arrival for delivery was a bit later than normal, or it was around when it was promised to be. Whatever the case, how far out from when it was requested (or said it was as this was put as ASAP) was not noticeable enough to comment on. Guess on that front, you can say they are prompt. In addition, this is a first for the delivery for me - in addition to the order arriving, the deliveryman also put a takeaway menu into the bag. Considering this is a new place, that might be a needed touch to get people to know them more. The menu is a relatively small one. It is essentially wraps that they are serving, along with the basic sides. Bits of long-cooked and charred meats on the spit, pita breads, salads, and a couple of the great Greek snacks make up the entire menu. That might be the most brief description of a menu done yet. The whole place is el cheap with nothing exceeding $15, and that is essentially an outlier. Going for a meal each, I was pursuing it for while wondering whether or not to get a couple of pitas, collect some bits and pieces, or something else. Ultimately, what I ordered was a platter for each of us. These plates contain your choice of meat (or haloumi), along with a serving of fries, Greek salad, tzatsiki and a couple of bits of pita bread. One of them I ordered with lamb skewers, and the other I got with haloumi. It doesn't matter who ordered what, since I switched a lamb skewer to the haloumi plate, and vice versa. These meals were solid and substantial. The pieces of lamb were tender, delicious and had the right amount of char on them. With the fries, they were okay - a bit soggy from the salad dressing, however there was quite a bit of them and they were well seasoned and cooked enough. Also the amount of them was enough to satiate, but not too much to go through. Where they were quite generous was with the salad, more so that it usually is. While the amount of lettuce might have been a bit too much, I certainly appreciate fresh and big bits of tomato, olives and feta that were in there. Occasionally, the red onion also added something though it is a bit acidic when raw for me. Plus, the pita bread was very tasty and soft. Speaking of which, with hindsight I might not have ordered the breads and dips and that is nothing to do with them. There was quite a bit already, and these dips were still good. From what I remember there was tzasiki, houmous and taramasalata. The amount in each tub was a bit small, and the bread certainly outnumbered it. Each of them was good, with the needed distinct flavours that they brought. Not bad, but this is one time I admit an order to be a bit unnecessary. When something sounds just too unusual to pass up, I feel a need to also include it in the order. This was the case when I saw that they had chocolate baklava. This was essentially the classical dessert, covered in a layer of chocolate. The layer of chocolate was between milk and dark, and was solid around the lovely baklava that was once again a winner with me - honey, pistachio and a whole lot of filo pastry make up one sweet that demands to be consumed with coffee (which I made, none from here). It is okay this place. The whole outlay is really simple, mostly being takeaway. If you think about the classical late-night kebab joint (for better or worse), think about somewhere like that except that the style is Greek. That being said, the quality of the food is a far cry from that and it tasted fresh for that matter. Overall though, this seems like another place that will simply exist even if it is giving the best that it can get. All the more luck to it, as there is definitely an appeal that it has.
