Bar Boo - Logan City

Around the corner from Cafe Les Amoureux is Bar Boo. After our meaty dinner my partner was hanging out for sweets and this gelateria had her favourite durian gelato on a waffle cone. The durian flavour is strong and fragrant and the waffle cone super fresh. Yum!

Hungry for something sweet, my dining companion and I headed over to Bar Boo to check out what they've got. Bar Boo began operating business in Market Square since 2004 and I still remember the 'little me' running to their store to get ice cream and a babyccino. The establishment focuses on mainly gelato (made on premise) and on the side, they've also got crepes and cakes available for purchase. Haven't had a crepe in such a long time, I opted for the Strawberry and Chocolate crepe. Whilst my friend settled with a scoop of their Picnic gelato. Crepe - Considering the place was packed with people and there were only 2 staffs on board, my order was made reasonably quick. The crepe was freshly made, folded into a triangular shape like a cone for easy handling. Crispy in texture and coated with chocolate as well as sliced strawberries inside. Gotta say, I've missed eating sweet crepes. But if only there were more strawberries, it would've balanced out the sweetness from the Chocolate. (Half way through my crepe and I was in need for a drink) ???? Overall, a nice experience accompanied by friendly staff. Good Stuff: Check out their gelato flavours Ferrero Rocher and Biscotti!! ???? Take-away gelato (packed in styrofoam boxes) is also available, so you can enjoy it with friend and family at home.

Finally I found almond flavour gelato here in brisbane and I felt so happy because not many ice cream parlour have this particular flavour. The gelato itself was quite good because not too heavy just the way I like it. Price is cheaper compare to other places.

Stopped into Bar Boo with Mini Meatball in search of a gelato to beat the heat. We shared a raspberry gelato, but neither of us were very impressed. The raspberry flavor was faint, overpowered by lemon and what I can only imagine is the smell of the freezer - not very pleasant. We ate less than half and binned the rest. Next time we'll try a crepe and hopefully they'll perform better.
