Dear all, one of the worse restaurants I've been to. In my opinion the food is very low quality, flat taste and either cold or warm on the same dish. cocktails? same story. At least or waitress was really nice. I feel sorry for them....And yes, it's pretty cheap.
We aimed for some Mexican food and found Casa Neruda. It's a small cosy restaurant, lovely decorated. The service is simple, don't expect too much professionally here, it's more house service The starter was delicious, really nice mixed placed. We had chicken wings (not the...best.....dry and not tasty) and a mixed grill platter for €45 that wasn't worth the money, meat was dry-overcooked and some piece not cooked enough. We complained and they reacted very well, the chef surprised us with two beef filet cooked at perfection! Really, delicious cooked at perfection and on top, they offered us some nice Tequila. We will give them a second try.... but the mixed platter and the chicken wings, we will not order anymore..... Faquitas seemed to be nice.
Well, we all decided at last minute to opt for Mexican instead of the old trusted Chinese, what a mistake that was. The restaurant itself was well decorated, but the outside patio was full, and we were made to sit inside, which was fine, we...were at the end of the restaurant out of the way, surrounded by empty but reserved tables, which were not filled the whole evening. So we sat, and waited, and waited and waited, eventually our drinks order was taken, along with the starter order, then she disappeared without taking our order for main course. Ok so that's the way we they do it here, 20 minutes later and our drinks had not come, so we went to ask where they were, and they came shortly after the chase. At this point our main order had still not been taken. 10 minutes further went by then she came back. Also because the people on the other table, with whom we shared sympathetic shrugs and eye contact with, were also complaining. Eventually our order was taken, 4 meals, quite simple really. We were then told there were no Tacos. Only to be told another 10 minutes later that there were Tacos because she had found them afterall! So we waited for our main order, it took probably another 45 minutes for it to arrive. Only problem was that 3 meals arrived. I was the unlucky one whose order they had totally forgotten about, but they were happy to walk off and leave one person without a meal, so I watched while the other ate their meals, which I must say they weren't too enthusiastic about. So after another 15 minutes of my meal not arriving, I ventured up and asked where it was. Oh was the response, did you order something. Duh!!! So they managed to rush through my fajita order, which I have to say a 5 year old could have done a better job. Then the bill came, they offered us free coffee....woo hoo how generous of them, but we declined. The bill came to 100.20 euros, and we didn't have change, and the waitress was grumbling over 20 centimes. Really but eventually they let us off the 20 cents. My advice is to simply avoid at all costs. It was one of my worst restaurant experiences ever.
The service was awful, slow, sticky and we had to wait ages for our food which wasn't that big at the end of the day.
First we were asked to go inside as the patio was fully booked. We were put in the far corner surrounded by empty but reserved' tables. It took about 20 minutes for them to take a drinks order... about another 10 for them to arrive....Then another 20 for them to take the main order. They didn't have Tacos... on a Friday night.. in a Mexican restaurant. 10 minutes later they came back.. turns out they did have Tacos. The was one couple next to us .. who were similarly struggling. At least we bonded with them. Finally after about 30 minutes the food arrived .. for 3 out of 4 of us. The unlucky one watched while we ate and waited.. and waited.. and finally asked where her dinner was .. oh ! what did you order . They rushed through the dish.. which arrived as the rest of us finished. All the while the restaurant was virtually empty. My dish was ok.. the burritos and tacos were terrible.... just overcooked and underspiced ground beef. In the end the waitress offered coffee on the house'.. which we declined. The bill, without any compensation, came to 100.20.... I had no coins.. I laughed and said.. I guess we can forget the .20 ... she actually had to think about it before grudgingly agreed.
