My 7 year old loves to try new foods and said the chorizo salad he ordered was amazing and to leave 5 stars lol. Beautiful restaurant you can feel the history in. Gorgeous view as well! View all feedback.
What Mikey G doesn't like about The Baker's Rack:
High priced worst service of a place I've ever been to. Couldn't barley get napkins on top of a cold fish filet on a hot waffle and Luke warm chorizo stew. Will never return! View all feedback.
I was excited to come here as I 've followed them on Instagram forever. I was really disappointed by a few things.. the service was non existent. The waitress was really rude and not helpful. She mentioned that they didn 't have a great morning, that they didn 't have napkins. That it would be a bit difficult to make chocolate milk for the kids but that she could do it, as if us showing up to eat and spend money was obnoxious.I arranged our own seating, spotted the menus with my own eyes and prepped the seating space since we weren 't being directed at all. We were the only party there at the moment. The fish dish we ordered was $15 for cold smoked fish on top of a fried potato pancake. The chorizo stew my friend ordered was lukewarm. We had to wait for our eating utensils after our food was served. It felt entirely hyped up and pretentious. Not sure what their target customers are, as it 's too expensive for your average proletariat and the service and dishes are sub par for folks who expect more from their dining/food experience.Pretty bummed about the experience. Place was cute, image was great, but quality and spirit were repressed.
My 7 year old son said he loved the chorizo caesar salad at this place. I had the ham and pineapple sandwich and it was pretty awesome. beautiful views as well!

Best cafe in Lockhart. The food, coffee, location, and employees were amazing
The Lockhart square has shop after shop and cafe after cafe of happy local owners that are thrilled you walked through their doors and show it no matter the day.I really really really wanted to love this place the location is amazing, the atmosphere is beyond adorable and we needed another cafe option in Lockhart but after five or six tries I have to give it three stars for its lack of hospitality and on two occasions stale tasting food.I have yet to interact with an employee at this cafe that isnt incredibly rude to put it simply. Given the robust hospitality experiences I have had at other establishments in Lockhart this has been a bummer.
