Sadly, my wife and son didn't have the same positive experience. The pulled pork was good, but the sides—potato salad and coleslaw—fell short. The potato salad had the texture and taste of dry mashed potatoes, while the coleslaw was overwhelmed by the flavor of cilantro. The chicken was overly wet, bordering on soggy, and the mac and cheese was creamy but tasted more like beer than cheddar cheese. For dessert, my wife tried the peach cobbler, which she found to be overly seasoned with cinnamon. The restaurant itself feels cramped, with insufficient room for both seating and waiting areas. It’s uncomfortable when people lined up to order are too close to the tables, and there’s little space to move without bumping into someone or something. The restroom is also quite small, barely accommodating more than one person at a time, and it would be helpful to have a sign indicating the use of the foot pedal to wash hands. Next time, we’ll opt for takeout. I would rate this experience as a 2.5, as it was somewhere between okay and disappointing.

If you’re in search of a genuine barbecue joint filled with character, history, and a unique atmosphere, look no further. This place has it all. The pulled pork is a textbook classic, the sauce is excellent, and the macaroni and cheese complements the meal perfectly. The potato salad is original and incredibly delicious as well. Great barbecue isn’t created in national chains; it’s crafted in small-town establishments like this one. Well done!
I'm really happy that we find this place on our way home. However, I'm very disappointed that I live so far away from it. I ordered the brisket sandwich with some extra pulled pork. I also ordered the sausage sampler and peach cobbler. Everything was delicious. The sauce was what very good and not sweet which I don't like sweet sauces. The only issue was that the sausages were a little tough but still great. They come with a small dish of some sort of cheese dip which was also very good. I would recommend the stop if your ever close by, it is worth it.
O.M.G. (Gosh ? . As ya drive by you see the smoke billowing from the chimney. Walk in to see a giant rotisserie machination rotating delectable meats over wood? pork, brisket, chicken, sausage. The sides: amazing. The sauces: amazing. Owner was telling some tourists visiting off interstate: if its on the board its excellent. True so true my friends. Go here!
