Our family of three visited this restaurant on Easter Sunday. I had made an online reservation and reviewed the brunch menu, which seemed appealing. However, upon arrival, we discovered that they were only serving a buffet that had little resemblance to the brunch menu. During our first trip to the buffet, my husband and I were able to grab the last four asparagus spears and about an ounce of ham. Everything else was either empty or too starchy for our liking. My adult son managed to get one waffle but found nothing else on the buffet to his taste. After two more trips to see if the buffet had been replenished, we finally found a small piece of overcooked salmon. When we informed our waitress that our son was struggling to find anything else he wanted, she kindly arranged for a bacon omelet for him. The omelet was delicious, but since we were charged for both the buffet and the omelet, it turned out to be quite expensive. I don't blame the waitstaff; they were clearly understaffed and doing their best. This issue seemed to stem from management.
We have dined here several times and always enjoyed the food and atmosphere but this time it was like the chef was not in. Our server was sweet and attentive, our table was nice, truly the only problem was the food was subpar. Bland, over cooked steak and just okay salmon dishes, even the salads were not as normally prepared. I love this place and I hope it was just an off night.
The food was acceptable, but not impressive. The Berkshire pork chop was overcooked—more well-done than medium—and didn't have much flavor. The grits underneath were fine, but nothing standout. The peppadew relish on the chop was the highlight of the dish, which is unfortunate. As for the deep-fried cauliflower appetizer, it was missing something, and the sauce didn’t contribute much either. I had heard good things about this place, but I was left feeling underwhelmed. I hope my honesty is forgiven.
Horrendous service.Slow.They don't seem to care. No explanation. Workers just standing around.
