After hearing that for the second time this year management had changed. You can clearly tell that this pub is running on its last legs, with a deadly silent atmosphere (other than the dated songs from the playing on the jukebox and a hint of Shaggy's It wasn't me My partner and I decided to eat out at Lillibets at what happened to be the worst meal we have ever eaten -ever. We arrived at approximately in the evening for a couple of drinks and a lovely freshly prepared' (I use the term loosely) meal. Yes, the home made chips looked very appealing if only we hadn't received them cold! The rest of the meal was if I couldn't think of a better word POOR. Sour (mouldy) peas, onion rings dripping with cooking oil and a medium steak (we did ask for rare). I would like to say that the staff were friendly and inviting but like the rest of the dying pub this was far from the case. When we were first served at the bar the older waitress with no manners (who seemed to believe she was still in her early with her see through leggings and vest top combi) smelt like a walking cigarette, I'm sure it's not just me who will find it rather off putting when you are sure at some point your food will be brought to you in her hands. We then came to find that at that current time they were not serving starters or (though stated on the menu) A la Lillibets' specials. After we ordered and took our table there was a younger girl walking around the pub and clearing tables the only person I saw who seemed marginally interested in their job. Ten minutes later we were greeted at our table by cigarette lady with our food in hand. She placed them down and left with no enjoy your meals' or even a thanks' for that matter. We complained to the younger girl about the condition of our food and she offered to replace our cold meals for fresh, correctly cooked ones. We declined the offer, drank the remainder of our drinks and made haste for the door. With no goodbye' or -you guessed it- thank you'. I think it's very very safe to say we will not be dining here again.

The food is good cheap fare, the staff seem friendly enough, but the accommodation is very very poor. Broken fixtures, mouldy, grimy looking surfaces, big spiders and a general grubbiness. Also a TV but no aerial. If only I could upload the evidential pictures I took.

Food: bland, chips undercooked.staff: ok, could be more smarter, n more smileyplace nice and clean table wise, but the wall light fittings were full of dust and dead flies/spiders, the paintwork was slap dash, no neat finish just generally unloved.ambience: the fires were lit and the looked very nice, the music needs help, it was like an older persons sing a long meeting.
