I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The service was outstanding; it felt like we were their only priority, even though the place was bustling. The seafood burger is a must-try! I appreciated that they provided nacho cheese on the side, which was just perfect. The margarita was excellent as well. The kitchen was impressively clean, and the atmosphere was quiet and casual. I can't wait to return and enjoy t... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Capital's Seafood House:
IS THIS PLACE still open??? We have been there a couple of times in early August and the food tasted fishy and awful, the service is slow and inadequate along with the atmosphere of the place. What professional business/restaurant will have HANDWRITTEN notes to say they're closed... Poor management...VERY UNPROFESSIONAL to say the least. View all feedback.
The food was fresh and tasty! service was excellent! very friendly, very fast! 2nd journey because it was sooo good!
The restaurant was small and quaint. The catfish was some of the best that I've had! The staff were friendly and attentive and made sure we were satisfied with everything. The bartender Fancie, listened carefully to my custom drink order and it was perfectly done. We will definitely go back!
Three stars because I think this place can improve. Lunch was packed the other day with lots of customers. Great location for downtown office people as well as the State Capitol folks close by. Tried to eat light but no clam chowder available and no shrimp cocktail either. Had the baby shrimp for an appetizer and they were not breaded very well and served with a bottled cocktail sauce. Needed lemons, too. The wedge salad was pretty good. Fresh lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, and lots of blue cheese. My friend had the lobster roll with sweet potato fries. The lobster salad was way too soggy for the light weight bread. Fries were ok. Needed some dipping sauce of some kind. The hush puppies were a hit. Freshly made with a touch of jalapeños inside. The bill was way too high for lunch at $52 dollars for two. The iced tea was $2.99 each. The pricier items such as the steamed shrimp and clam bowl I saw being served on the way out might be a tastier meal. Will try them again because I think they were trying hard but just going throw a few growing pains having just recently opened. Service was very good.
Ladies night for 4, we all LOVE seafood so we stopped here before going to the movies. I ordered the shrimp and grits. When it arrived with all those onions and peppers on it I asked if I got the correct order. She kinda laughed and was like yeah the chef added his touch. I sighed. Anyway, I absolutely love onions and peppers, but this was not the dish for it. The onions and peppers were sliced and way too big for this dish. The sauce was ok. I ate a little but wasn't satisfied at all. My first friend ordered the fish platter. It was delicious! We all tasted it. Fried perfect. My second friend ordered seafood pasta. It tasted like they cooked the pasta in too much salt and added more salt on top before bringing it to the table. She sent it back. My third friend ordered the lobster macaroni and she was upset as soon as she saw the small cup that cost $15. It tasted good but the size was ridiculous for the price. We got two appetizers crawfish and wings. They were both good. I did feel sorry for the waitress having to deal with 4 unsatisfied women. Oh and let me add their bathroom is OUTSIDE! Its on the side of the building, unlocked, no security, cold, and unclean. Anyone can be walking down the street and user it. I didn't like the feeling when I used it at night.
