What User doesn't like about Yung's Chinese & Thai Restaurant:
Went here today because only place that wasn't booked out because of Mother's Day. I understand why. "Long soup" was some boiled water with some pepper and noodles, no flavour at all!Chicken was slimy, see through and stringy.. didn't taste at all like chicken. Yuck. On the other hand, fried rice was good, Waitress did a good job, could have smiled a little more though. View all feedback.

The restaurant was full as there had been an event on in lismore and most places were shut as it was a public holiday. The restaurant was struggling to handle the pressure and there were 2 waitresses on.. I ordered a chilli chicken and cashews off their Thai menu, vegetable samosas and prawn crackers for my son (2yrs) and asked them to be brought out as soon as ready... The veges Samosas were frozen ones and the prawn crackers were stale.. the waitress forgot our drinks and entrees until being prompted.. Afyer waiting a good hour for my meal...It was not Thai and not edible. There were barely any veges and the meat was chewy. It was too salty and so spicy I couldn't eat it (I am Korean and love spicy food) but mainly no flavour at all.. no Thai herbs, no beautiful crisp Thai veges and flavours. After my complaint the waitress offered a credit note to compensate for the fact the meal would still be full price (which it was a higher surcharge because of the public holiday) .. I declined because after an hour of waiting i was hungry.. no.. "hangry". I chose to exchange it for a Chinese beef chow mein (surely a safe choice from a Chinese/"Thai" restaurant). I asked for it to be packed up in a takeaway container as after waiting so long it was his bedtime. When the bill came I questioned why I was charged $57.95 full price for 2 meals and entrees . They just said "Just because u didn't like it doesnt mean its our fault! You still have to pay for it..!" I have worked in hospitality all over the world and there has never been a case if the food is not what is on the menu, inedible and nothing has been eaten off it.. then the customer should be compensated in some way.. So, very angry and hungry I paid for the rice that was not even packed up.. 2 meals and extremely plain entrees.. Beef chow mein was chewy and lacking flavour too.. (no suprise!) I will NEVER be going here again nor encouraging anyone else to. There are lots of good places to eat around the area and this is NOT one of them. Bad food and bad customer service..
The best Chinese restaurant in town and my number 1 favourite over anywhere else. Have been coming here for years and have not been disappointed. The short soups are fantastic and delicious (Give me the recipe!!) so I get one every time for entree. I recommend the deep fried duck with plum sauce and the Mongolian chicken which tastes amazing. Everything else is cooked to perfection. The lemon lime and bitters is also made really well here and is refreshing! The restaurant itself has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere which I like.Have been coming here for many different special occasions over the years. Whenever I feel like Chinese food, Ying's is the first place that I think of.Best Chinese food in Lismore, friendly service, will always come here!
We booked for two and were lucky we did as the restaurant was full and the take away business constant. They seemed understaffed with only two waitresses and this resulted in very slow service. we arrived at 7 and did not receive our entree until almost 8.The food was good though and we enjoyed the roast duck especially, it was delicious. Another waitress would have improved the whole experience.
