Lovely that Mumbai is back and serving it's delicious food after the recent devastating Lismore flood. My friend says the gin from nearby Murwillumbah that they serve here is the best she's tasted. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mumtaj Indian Restaurant:
We have tried it couple of times. first time it was on thursday and food was very nice naans were very good. We had to wait for an hour before the serving lady took our order. Second time we went there on sunday again. We ordered butter chicken, lamb korma peas pulav and butter naan. The food was terrible this time. Butter chicken had burnt taste, lamb korma was watery and I am pretty sure naan was just a plain naan... View all feedback.
I have been a patron of this restaurant for a while now, but unfortunately, it has deteriorated. The food arrived 45 minutes late and was cold, the broth was cold and hard, like a rock. This experience left me feeling very disappointed. I would not recommend this restaurant anymore.
We ordered chicken tikka masala and lamb rogan josh with rice and papadum. The dishes were perfectly balanced in terms of spiciness, not too hot or too mild. It is clear that we will be frequenting this restaurant during our vacation. Credit is certainly due where it is deserved. Well done.
The best butter chicken outside of India is quickly served by very kind people. The best meal is highly recommended at a great price.
The food quality and menu choices bring us back to the Mumtaj again and again. The goat biryani is amazing (not listed on the menu so ask for it). Great service, attentive staff, clean front of house and importantly the toilets too. The dishwasher behind...the bar is a noisy mongrel which I think they fire up as a signal that the night is over go home. Birthdays attract a free drink. Even the other guests join in singing the birthday song. Great vibe with a huge flat screen playing bollywood dancing endlessly but could be improved with more traditional Indian decorations, artwork, tapestry etc on the bleak walls. Thank you.
I was in many Indian restaurants all over Australia and I need to save the atmosphere is friendly and very clean. they have left the floors that now look great and installed aircon for these really hot days in rest. the prices are family friendly...and the portions are large enough to share at least 2-3 persons. not only the portions are large enough to share, the eating itself offers deep taste. These curries were not cooked from a glass/cancer, but brewed for a longer time to allow a really tasty taste. many options of sweet mango huh to vindaloo. highly recommended. the photo is from a $10 lunch curry.
