Description

Located in a dated setting, this Indian restaurant in Hillsborough has received mixed reviews. While some guests complained of poor customer service and outdated decor, others raved about the delicious food and friendly staff. The Groupon experience left a bad taste, as additional charges were imposed rudely. Service was slow, but the food quality and variety were highlights for many. The restaurant struggled with ambiance due to few patrons and lackluster decor. Despite the drawbacks, the owner's hospitality and traditional food offerings earned praise, making it a potential hidden gem worth revisiting.

Extremely poor customer service. I was unfamiliar with this restaurant, but my partner purchased a Groupon voucher for it. I wondered how bad it could be. When we called to make a reservation, we were informed of an additional £2 charge per person for using the voucher. The staff member was rude and unhelpful. After pointing out that this fee was not mentioned in the offer, we were given an ultimatum: pay the extra charge or find another place to dine. We chose the latter option. Groupon promptly refunded us for the voucher, which was appreciated. Given the negative reviews, we typically wouldn't risk dining at a place like this. In today's competitive hospitality industry, businesses need to provide exceptional service to succeed - something this restaurant lacks.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. My boyfriend and I came for dinner after exploring Hillsborough and we loved the meal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning!

My partner and I went here thinking we where going somewhere swanky because its in hillsborough. We walked through the door and it was like stepping back to 1980, the decor is very dated, not only that the restaurant itself is cold, they have a fire and heaters, they just don't turn them on or keep them down low,. One man seemed to be doing everyone's job, he was waiter bar man and possibly cook , my kebab starter was OK a bit chewy, but the rest of the food wasn't great, the Nann bread seemed shop bought, and the dishes didn't have much of a kick, they also seemed more watery than creamy. If your into your Indian food this isn't the place for you

I have eaten at several Indian restaurants, but I always return to this one for the delicious food. It is definitely our top choice.

We had booked a table for 6.30. we moved from reception to our table at 7.20. within 30minutes we were the only people left in the restaurant. There appeared to be two people working in the restaurant serving and cooking. The young waiter was competent and professional. The restaurant itself was clean but could use some redecoration. The food was nice. They seemed to do a reasonable carry out service. I think the building itself is a little out of the way and this doesn 't help as they don 't have 'passing trade '.
