Made a reservation for 7:30 for the carte Blanche 7 course vegan menu for 98€ per person. The courses were paced well and rapidly. The chefs bites were a mini mushroom croquette and a tomato cracker that tasted like pizza in a good way. Then a potato foam over kohlrabi, with some Smokey flavor. The starters were better than the mains. The first starter was a peach sorbet over eggplant, quite amusing. The next starter was a Peruvian inspired leche de Tigre dish served with coca bread. This was one of our favorites. The last starter was a roasted watermelon and mushroom dish. The mains were a kimchi dumpling with salmorejo and a red wine blueberry reduction over kolhrabi- too much sauce. Our favorite was the palate cleanser which was a citrus granita. Two desserts. First one was Indian spiced with pineapple. Second one was chocolate with berries. The vegan madelines at the end were a good attempt but probably not accurate. I would still recommend this place.

It was truly one of the best meals I have had. We savored a seven-course menu with a wine pairing over 2.5 hours. Even my non-veg husband loved it. There are no photos, as the dishes were timed and choreographed by the amazing staff, and photography felt disruptive to the carefully crafted flow.

Arkhe puts together one of the most amazing vegetarian/vegan tasting experiences out there. The chef adapted the 7 course meal to be vegan. (But it was far more than 7 courses with all of the additional bites, including the delicious bread. We’ve never felt so satiated after a tasting menu. The menu was extremely creative, too. We happen to be seated at the chefs table in the back, and we were able to watch the kitchen during the service. The chef came over to our table to serve several courses, and we had the opportunity to speak to him at the end. The entire experience was a treat! Updated from previous review on 2024-05-24

The quality of the meal, the service, and the surroundings was exceptional. Our table of four had the seven course option (which, with amouse bouche, palate cleanser, final chocolates, and two different bread servings, was more like 12 courses and everything was just perfect. They even ensured that my father received an alternate course when the usual one would have been too spicy. It’s clear that everyone at Arkhe is passionate about what they do, and it elevates the experience as a result. And while yes, it isn’t an inexpensive meal, it is worth it (and would be at least twice the price in the U.S. we would most certainly return if we find ourselves in Lisbon again.
