Was Anonym at Roman's a mag?
All the way along the pedestrian area there are similar restaurants so first time it is always a step into the unknown. First time we stopped we were welcomed and promptly served a drink. a cheerful waiter. A good selection offered in the menu and our questions and dietary queries easily answered and dealt with. Food order arrived in good time , and proved tasty and good portion sizes. The menu selection , good servi... View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Roman's:
Italian food very good menu, everything you can think of. Enjoyable. Found in the main pedestrain area from the main square. Nice to sit outside to eat but the downside is, it's a busy area therefore you are sometimes bothered by street traders or beggars. Scored average due those points above however, no complaints about the service or food at all. View all feedback.

This supposedly Portuguese-Italian restaurant is neither. The food we ordered was overcooked, tasteless, and poorly executed. I find it impossible to believe a qualified chef or even an experienced cook would be responsible for preparing and serving this food. I ordered a veal scallopine with tagliatelle and creamy sauce. I got a leathery piece of beef coated in breadcrumbs, overcooked sitting on top of overcooked tagliatelle and covered in this curdled white lumpy liquid. Inedible. My dinner guest ordered baked fish on salad. the fish had been chopped not filleted and deep fried not baked until it was a dry lump sitting on the plate with a lettuce leaf combination of some sort on one side and overcooked soggy vegetables on the other. Inedible

I recommend the pizza at Roman’s. It couldn’t be situated in a more touristic place but to my surprise the pizza was really good.

The service was good and the side salad was good, but it was otherwise a disappointing experience. The food was average at best and very much overpriced.

Right on the tourist strip but still very friendly and the service good. You are crammed in a bit but the atmosphere is pleasant. Great selection of cheap beverages during happy hour also.

There is no shortage of places to sit and enjoy a coffee, a meal or just your favourite libation along this popular street in Lisbon and we have tried a few over the years. However this was our first time at Roman’s, a busy spot serving their versions of both Italian and Portuguese specialties. We found a table in the shade and settled down to browse through the extensive menu. It is a pictorial experience as each dish is shown in full colour and with its detailed explanation. Whether you are looking for breakfast, lunch or dinner you will likely find something to try. Others around us — it was a little after 11 in the morning — seemed to have ordered from the both the breakfast and what we might have thought to be lunch items. Some had wine on the table and a couple at the next table ordered beers. A lady sitting nearby told us she was pleased to see others with a coffee in a tall glass and we mentioned it would be a Galao — a tall (or big) coffee with milk. In fact she later found it mentioned in the menu. Later in the day we returned for lunch and ordered a fish dish. It was delicious and is on the menu as “Codfish with red pepper, onion, capers, boiled egg and cheese sauce.” I really enjoyed it. My wife found it a little too cheesy for her taste but thought the fish was good. Prices? It’s the Rua Augusta in the heart of Lisbon’s tourist district. Prices, we thought, are more than if you are eating away from the main streets but again in our opinion as people-watchers, we thought it worth the premium. A word of warning — the washrooms are on the lower level and my patient partner says she counted 16 or 17 steps. Our visit was enjoyed and made all the more pleasant by the excellent and friendly service we received. We hope, if you drop by when next in Lisbon, you have an enjoyable experience too.
