During a visit to Lisbon, we discovered this place by coincidence. The cod fish I ordered with my colleagues the first time was delicious. Because we loved everything about this place, we kept coming back again. During a span of 5 days, we visited this place 3 times. We were so happy every time with the freshness of the fish, its taste, and the great service. I hope that the owner will consider opening a branch in To... View all feedback.

What JuanMartinezR dislikes about O Pavao:
Nothing advisable for foreigners. They take advantage of foreigners to get the money. We paid € 65 per person for a dinner that was worth as much as a quarter. The objective of the waiter is to get the most number of dishes and if they are expensive better knowing that it is a lot of food. Very little recommended View all feedback.

My family had a very good experience at this small local restaurant. Great recommendations and took great care of our kids 9&7. Fish and steak were excellent. Nice atmosphere.

O Pavao is a great little neighbourhood restaurant. It is a small restaurant with pleasant atmosphere and decor. The servers were terrific. Our primary server’s English was marginal (much better than our Portugese! but he went out of his way to make us feel at home. Seafood is its speciality. Stick with that and ask for what’s fresh. The portions are overly-generous. The codfish Pavao was amazing but more than enough for two. Similarly the grilled grouper was perfectly done, but more food than we needed. The mussels with onions starter at 5.50 euros cannot be beat. We could have lived off that alone. The wine selection is good. The vino verdhe is the best bet to match with the cuisine. Dinner for two including the best vino verdhe, starters, bread, cheese and entree portions that were far too big was only 65 euros.

The worst place to eat fish. The service is far from avarage, the food quality is terrible. I would not suggest to visit this place.

This restaurant is located in a northern section of Lisbon, close to the second most important Lisbon Avenue – Republic Avenue – where there many hotels. If you don’t feel as going to downtown and you look for a restaurant with good Portuguese cuisine this restaurant can be the solution; good food and friendly staff. Enjoy!
