We have a nice bottle of Douro, my... read more Our last night in Portugal, shortly after returning from Porto, we decided to find a place to eat and ended at Callassa Café. We have a nice bottle of Douro, my wife ordered the pig dog we enjoyed and I got the Indian style shrimps. The rice wasn't great, but that was the only thing I mean. Our waiter, Gil (Pronounced Jill), was wonderful. He really took care of us and was too happy to tell us about the origins of some menu items, wines, etc. He was just a total treasure. He stepped up the first bottle of wine and asked which of us wanted to taste it. If you're in wine, you'll know what I'm talking about... He pours the taste for my wife while we 're chatting and I see that he passes his thumb over the inside of the cork and thus he stops everything. "I apologize. I'll get you another bottle. "Sugar. Gil got it, so we didn't have to. Sometimes it's the big things. Most often it is the little ones, these moments of pure experience, the way you don't even know happens that make the difference. Oh!
