Th... read more We have been to several fado clubs in Lisbon and really enjoyed EstaFado. It is small and doesn't cater to tourist groups (though tourists are very welcome . The evening we were there, four very good fado singers performed even though only two were originally planned it is not unusual at some clubs for fado singers to show up unannounced and want to sing. Because of its small size, it felt intimate. Many of the other fado clubs are too large and touristy. We love Fado and really liked the singers here. For food, we found the menu to be fine and ordered a meat and cheese appetizer, salad, seafood dish (caldeirada for two, desserts and more. The seafood dish was excellent: it was large, tasty and had lots of fresh fish and shellfish. (Some of the other dishes we saw people eating did not look as good, which may be the reason some reviewers did not like the food as much as we did. Service by a young woman was very friendly, helpful and efficient. The owner, Hugo, was also very friendly and loves to share and promote fado. As for cost, a price for the show (20 E for two , the appetizer and salad (18 E , seafood dish for two (45 E , two desserts (10 E , plus large carafe of good house wine (18 E , water, coffee and liquer (10 E totaled about 120 Euros. This seemed a reasonable price for a complete, very good dinner and fado show that went (with breaks from 9:30 pm to almost 1 am.
