I was there to celebrate my mother birthday and it was a very good dinner. Space is amazing, employees are really really nice, the food was very good I recommend the traditional leitao and price was very ok too.
We had dinner at this restaurant in alcantara. the ambiente was amazing. the service was excellent and the food was good. not the best in lisbon, but a good evening choice
Well this was a real surprise. The restaurant was recommended in some of the guides we read in advance of our trip, but we were unsure, partly because of the fact that the guides were not the best when it came to recommending a great...meal; and partly because the review did not do it justice. We write at times with a lot of superlatives for the wonderful places we have been. And we had some great meals in Lisbon and in fact all of Portugal. But this place outdid them all. It is located in an unlikely place, only somewhat near the waterfront. Sort of a mixed and industrial zone. And in fact it is located in an old factory involved in ship building at some point. When we showed up the place was pretty much empty, not encouraging, but we it was because of a major soccer game going on. Our cloud of doubts soon melted away. An excellent white port tonic to start and some delicious grilled octopus and other appetizers (it was our last night in Lisbon so we splurged). Bought a more pricey wine and enjoyed every drop of two bottles. The celebratory mood was not so much the product of having had a magical week in Portugal, but in anticipation of roast suckling pig. You see this is slow roasted and they had one already going--with few takers, so all four of us had plenty to eat. RSP is one of my favorites, and it is only done really well on the Iberian Peninsula. This was the first place we found it on the trip and frankly had not missed it because of all the terrific seafood. But there it was staring us in the face (both as an item on the menu and in the flesh so to speak. The fabulous waiter we had actually took it off the fire so we could get better acquainted. Well, he was cute, but he was a lot tastier than attractive. What a meal. Afterwards we had great desserts, more port and a personal tour of the entire facility. Even without having live Fado as in other places, this was the best meal and the most memorable night of the trip. If you are in Lisbon, you simply must dine here. And if not, well go there!
Hosted in an old factory this place serves an amazing cod made the portoguese way. Good wines, good services and ambience. Love it.
