Was Flemming Holst P at Epur a mag?
I love this restaurant! Amazing service and great food! The view of Lissabon was amazing and we had an amazing time! Thanks to the kitchen and all the staff! Had an amazing diner! View all feedback.
What Frederico Borges dislikes about Epur:
Bland (poor) ambiance, banal food with horrible wine pairings. The worst Michelin-starred restaurant I’ve ever been in and the first one to make me question inspectors criteria. I guess it’s all a marketing play now. Seriously underwhelming and a total ripoff. Caveat emptor: there are better restaurants in Lisbon so go there instead. View all feedback.

We had a wonderful dinner at a Epur. A master class in gastronomy with attentive and friendly service. We needed a lot of input from the sommelier as they serve Portuguese wines and she did an amazing job advising and guiding us through less well known vineyards. We definitely congratulated the Chef and all the team on our way out. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Great food with an amazing view to Lisbon in Chiado. I really do strong recommend the wine pairing! One of the best pairings I had in a Michelin starred restaurant. The service is great and very friendly. Great value for money experience in the heart to Lisbon Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €50+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Difficult to know where to start... simply the best restaurant in Lisbon and I've tried over 60+ restaurants in the city. I keep coming back regularly and not only the quality is always remarquable but the staffs attention is outstanding and the menu always evolving. I've been to Michelin stars restaurants that could learn from EPUR and am sure that they will be awarded in 2020.
I´ve been to Epur twice (once in 2018 and the second time last May 2019). Both times the experiences were amazing. Everything was of high quality. The food, the service, the view.... everything. This is a restaurant that will surely have a Michelin star very soon.
Staff are well trained and go out of their way to accommodate requests. Non arrogant and the team work well together. This is good value fine dining. Fine signing is not cheap ever. We had the simple menu and we were completely full. I enjoyed their wine selection.
I visited some of the very best restaurants in Lisbon and would no hesitate to add this one to that group this is an excellent restaurant which provides an amazing culinary experience.<br/ <br/ I would recommend trying more than the first tasting menu of 4 'moments ' given how diverse all dishes are.

This was a little slice of heaven. The perfect blend of staff and culinary perfection. Couldn’t have asked for a better combination. So grateful to have had a chance to experience our new friends and EPUR.
It was great Michelin experience in Epur, from their tailored services, warm ambience, fantastic view, last but not the least, the great food. Though there was a little fly that disturbed the meal, we are happy and satisfy on the night. Recommended!
Food was not what you expect from the ranking. Service great, atmosphere reasonable. It was not full and we were one of the last tables and got presented the bill before even asking for it. Really felt like we needed to go. Shame that food was also not at par and nice to go but certainly not a must do when in Lisbon.
This was a superb meal, easily worth one Michelin star and more deserving of two. The food was delicious, inventive and perfectly portioned. The wine pairings were thoughtful and creative. The service was warm, professional and welcoming. I have eaten at many Michelin starred restaurants and this should be considered for an additional star. Highly recommended
This restaurant experience at Epur didn't quite meet our expectations, especially when compared to the high standards we've encountered at other Michelin-starred establishments during our week in Portugal. Firstly, our interaction with the sommelier left much to be desired. We have specific dietary preferences, with one of us requiring low-preservative wines due to a sulphite reaction, and the other favoring cocktails. Instead of accommodating our needs, the sommelier seemed disinterested and even condescending. It's disheartening when a sommelier fails to understand their role in enhancing the guest experience. We've encountered similar wine requirements at other Michelin-starred restaurants in the past week, and they all managed to provide suitable options without any judgment. Moreover, two of the degustation courses left us underwhelmed. The squid ink squid and the gamba/shrimp/prawns dishes were disappointingly bland. While we understand that squid ink itself has a subtle flavor, it's no excuse for serving a tasteless dish. In a Michelin-starred restaurant, we expect every course to be an exquisite culinary experience, and unfortunately, these two fell short. In summary, our visit to Epur was the most disappointing meal we've had during our week in Portugal. The combination of a haughty sommelier and dishes that didn't quite hit the mark left us with a less-than-pleasant impression. When dining at Michelin-starred establishments, we anticipate exceptional service and outstanding cuisine, and sadly, Epur did not deliver on these fronts.

What should have been the peak of our culinary trip to Lisbon, unfortunately didn’t fully meet our expectations. Don’t get me wrong: the venue with its view over the city is beautiful, the menu was very tasty and definitely earned the Michelin Star. However, the service was definitely not up to this recognition. Cutlery was forgotten once, we waited for the wine card for 30 minutes and when telling the service in a polite way about those shortcomings, the feedback was simply taken without apology or whatsoever. Overall a very good quality of the kitchen and all in all the evening was very nice and enjoyable. However given the Michelin recognition, we would have expected a little more.
Solid fine dining restaurant. Not a big fan of the cucumber pre dessert dish and the oxtail dish is slightly over salty but overall a solid place. The main reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the tipping part. I was asked if I was going to tip and I said yes (of course since I’m from America I’m used to tipping). For 160 bill I’d tip 20% (for a non tipping culture like Portugal it’s a lot) but they added 40 euro which is 25% when they hand me the bill instead of letting me do it. I mean it isn’t a big difference between 20 and 25% but the way they added automatically without asking puts me off a little.
Loved our experience at Epur, the only thing that was frustrating is we were verbally asked for a tip (pressured) at the very end when it is not Portugal culture to tip at all, I believe because we were American. Hoping the restaurant reads this and can fix. Add a line to the receipt to tip is reasonable, do not ask in person.
I had an excellent 150-minute dining experience at Epur. I ordered wines by the glass and thought they were very reasonably priced ~9 to 15 EUR . Based on those prices, I don't think the 80 EUR wine pairing is worth it. I ordered the Epurismo menu, which included two additional courses including my favorite dish oxtail with pasta and was quite filled before the dessert. Our servers were very attentive as expected and I very much enjoyed their synchronized table service yes there was a lot of focus on utensil placement but we had some fun with it ; . My least favorite dish was the shrimp.
I've had around eight or nine tasting menus in the just few years this was unfortunately the weakest. The food was generally nice (a lot very nice) but there were parts of the menu that outright didn't work or were possibly the execution wasn't right. The smoked aubergine part of a lamb dish was so bitter as to be inedible. We both left this on the plate so it should have been clear there was an issue on a small plate but staff didn't ask about it. Can't imagine a chef tasted this thought it was okay to go out. The bread selection course was nice but over substantial. The €80 for the matched wine was very expensive for what was received, I don't mind paying for top stuff professional selection normally. Drinks arrived with every other course rather than a small serving to go with each dish as has been a more positive experience in the past. Service was a little over officious stiff, the position of cutlery on the table seemed to be more of a priority than whether or not customers were enjoying the food. Not to under estimate the overall quality of the majority of the dishes the cooking (which was very good). Just overall you would expect very high standards across the board. Everyone at the restaurant seemed nice.

Perfect in all ways - from the first tip of the white port through the imaginative tasting menu served on beautiful contemporary porcelain without getting attention. Each course was better than the last and earned the Michelin star. A long but happy experience. Would go back in a minute.
Exceptional service and beautiful, minimal atmosphere and panoramic views. Tasting menu coupled with wine pairings made for an amazing experience.
The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Service is superb. The food is good but I have had better food with other Michelin one star restaurants with a lower price tag.
I could find an Asian touch. Although I am from South Korea, it was fresh and cool. Wonderful place and food.
What a wonderful experience. The boss here seems to do wonders with food, simple seasonal ingredients are made to sing with taste. Be it Hamachi, mushrooms and cauliflower or the black pig all ingredients have been more intense and richer versions of itself. In addition to the wonderful food, the service was amazing, the team delivered what was almost like a service and nothing was heavy or challenging for them. An amazing evening pleasure.
