Selected this restaurant as close to my hotel and also wanted to experience fado. The food was quite nice I just had a fish main but it was lovely. The fado experience was also truly unique and quite moving. I would highly recommend when in Lisbon.
Very good food on a superb atmosphere! Live Fado music and great location! Very crowded but definitelly worth visiting!
The suffix “inho” in Portuguese denotes the superlative form of a word, so an approximate meaning for “devagar devagarinho” is “nice and easy” (or, perhaps, “laid back to the max” . It offer free fado on Friday nights; the only requirement being a minimum order for dinner and drinks of just 25 euros/person (we easily met this by ordering a charcuterie board of sausages and cheeses, a liter of sangria and 2 entrees. I ordered the mixed grille while my wife ordered the sea bass cooked over an open flame; servings were huge. The restaurant opens at 8pm; reservations are required for the fado show (more on this below , which begins around 9pm. The highlight of our evening was when our efficient, cheerful server sang the second fado presentation of the evening, accompanied by 3 guitars. The only difficulty we encountered was in making reservations. There is a form on the restaurant’s website but I never received a confirmation to the requests I sent using it. There is also a link (look carefully for it on the restaurant’s website which connects to The Fork reservation system which, I suspect, is the preferred manner of securing a reservation. To find Restaurante Devagar Devagarinho, turn away from Avenida da Liberdade at the Tivoli Theater, walk a short way until you come to a “T.” Turn left and then take your next right; the restaurant will be about 20 yards uphill on the right-hand side of the street.
Great traditional environment and singers. Tasty traditional Portuguese food while listening to FADO! different night in Lisbon Center highly recommended!
Fado was good but food was deceiving. You need to stay there from 9 to 1130 to hear 9 songs as fado is played in between courses. Place is also very small.

Went in looking for a nice meal and ended up having an amazing experience! Asked for a few sharing platters, the cheese was mind blowing, Morcela w/ pineapple was super loaded and perfectly made, also asked for a portion of shrimp in garlic and was lured into a fairy tale of flavours! The service by itself was A lvl, the whole vibe of the place is just what you need trust me, the selection is amazing and you will not leave disappointed or with an empty stomach!
