The octopus dish was like boiled wiener sausages in dish water. They pretend not to know a word of English and confuse you with the menu, then try rip you off.

Our wonderful guide from Lisbon Chill Out Tours recommended this restaurant as being good Portuguese cuisine a good price but be warned, this is a fetid den of... read more Our wonderful guide from Lisbon Chill Out Tours recommended this restaurant as being good Portuguese cuisine a good price but be warned, this is a fetid den of shocking service, gross food and a pricing system designed to fleece the unsuspecting tourist with blatant dishonesty. Much could be said about the food where the only vegetarian option is boiled cabbage for 7 euros and a charge of 1 euro for a splash of olive oil to make it palatable; but I will restrict myself to the drama which unfolded when we disputed the bill. The bill came to 107 euros whereas we calculated it at less than 100. So we put 100 on the counter and went out into the street. What happened next can only be described as surreal. The entire staff of 4 people including a little old lady and a thug swinging a baseball bat came running after us. They grabbed my daughter 's handbag and when my wife came to her rescue she was attacked. I was filming this on my phone and was attacked with a flying kick which fortunately missed so I have some footage if anyone is interested. Needless to say, this dive doesn 't warrant one star and you enter at your peril.
