In the case of Roda’ we felt a little l... read more Our visit to the Aeolian islands was much enhanced by excellent restaurant reviews and recommendations from TripAdvisor. In the case of Roda’ we felt a little let down. The food is a little mundane (and salty), although the pizza size is generous. Prices a little high, especially for wine. Ambience leaves something to be desired. I doubt if I will return.

Salads were very ordinary, olives served hot which was a bit weird and my seafood pizza was ridiculously salty. Told the waiter about the saltiness and he blamed the seafood. Nah! Just very saltily ‘seasoned’ dough, base and seafood to blame. Having the Italian version of X factor blaring away in the background did not add to the ambience. Cheapest bottle of wine was 25€ and a head thumping 14%. All in all it was a bit of a rip off. Sorry, really wanted to enjoy it but the chef needs to try harder and massively reduce the salt content of the food.
