Pensione La Sirena - LIPARI

When we first came here a few years ago, I raved about this restaurant and thought the meal and experience I had was once of the best ever in Italy. Sadly over the last couple of years, having made it an annual pilgrimage, the place has demonstrably gone down hill. Once the kitchen was staffed by women, and the food had a passion. Now its all men and the cooking is not as good. Worse still the front of house service for lunch was charmless and chaotic. The staff appeared harrassed and not to care less. So sad.... and we came away feeling we had not had value or a good experience, so not sure I will make the effort to return next year. Ho hum :

Try anything, you will like everything! Raw seafood or fried, or grilled. Everything taste delicious. It’s light and tasty, lunch or diner. You will find exactly what you came for : right taste from fresh food, coming straight from the sea!

We anchored Nemesi in the harbor and then hitched a ride ashore and wandered about. After a beer at a small bar, we walked up a bit from the beach to eat at this great outdoor venue. Had totani for the first time and liked it. The wine was cool and crisp for all of the great seafood we had. Price was fine, too, and service was excellent. If you make your way to this small patch of rock, hit this place for lunch or dinner!

Buon ristorante sulla spiaggia di pecorini, soprattutto se si ha fame dopo ore di vela. si consiglia di prenotare per tempo.

Cibo molto buono, menu tipicamente siciliano sia con pesce e non, molto bella vista sul porto e camerieri molto gentili. consigliato!
