Giligan's - Lipa
Giligan's
Description
Gilligan's delivers bold, authentic Filipino flavors in a cozy, well-presented setting with a diverse menu—from pork BBQ and sisig to tofu sisig and chicken teriyaki. Many diners praise attentive service and a stress-free atmosphere, though some report inconsistent execution: small or cold portions, soggy or reheated items, and occasional plastic-tasting water. Price points span budget to mid‑high, making it suitable for casual lunches, dinners, and group meals. Strong on flavor and variety, it could improve portion consistency and table service.

This restaurant offers delicious food at affordable prices. It's kid-friendly, equipped with high chairs. I dined in for lunch and found the average price per person to be around ₱1,000–1,200. I rated the food 5/5, the service 5/5, and the atmosphere 5/5. I highly recommend trying the Garlic Rice Platter, Sweet and Sour Pork, and Sweet and Sour Fish.
I dined here alone for the first time, and I have to say, the food was amazing! I can't believe how good everything was. When the bill arrived, I was shocked at how inexpensive the meal was—it was the cheapest dine-in experience I've ever had! The staff was incredibly accommodating and attentive to all my needs. Honestly, the value for the quality of food is unbeatable. The customer service was fantastic as well. I truly enjoyed the lovely ambiance, which had a wonderful oceanic vibe. I can't wait for my next visit!
While the food is undeniably tasty, the portions are disappointingly small. The porridge, which is supposed to serve 4-5 people, resembled more of a soup. It contained only six small shrimp, with the rest being mostly vegetables. I understand that inflation might be a factor, but the rice porridge we received tasted as if it had simply been reheated, and the other dishes were all served cold. Additionally, the water had a plastic taste. The fish fillet was excessively soggy, and both the lechon kawali and chicken fillet were also cold when served. The service left much to be desired—there were no tissues provided, and it was difficult to get the staff's attention, even with only a handful of customers in the restaurant. Please step up your game.
