They still have their wonderful southern classics .... But they added a spicy Bar B Q ..... Lived in the south all my life and I couldn't get enough of that stuff! Also noticed on my visit today they scored a 98 ! What else can you ask for , clean, delicious and a bargain ! View all feedback.
What Hillary Hegmann doesn't like about Airport View Restaurant:
I had heard great things about this restaurant, but I was disappointed. The orders were not coming out quickly from the kitchen. It took 25 minutes to cook a simple dish of eggs and hash browns. The food was not worth the wait, unfortunately. I would give this place a low rating compared to my expectations. Thankfully, I enjoyed the well-done toast. View all feedback.
Great food, amazing serviceOne of my regular go-to spotsI only live about 10 minutes away and love to go look at the airplanes.
This review is not comparable to other 4 star reviews, the 4 star is because this is the only place close to the airport, it actually is on the airfield
I was a student pilot. A couple of years ago I landed in Lindsay airport. We were hungry and there was a small restate that on site. After a standard bacon and eggs breakfast I spotted butter tarts. I asked the lady what were the best ones and she said coconut. To be honest I don't eat butter tarts and I have never tried one however my wife loves them. I bought 4 and flew back to my home airport. When I went to the office the dispatcher asked if those were butter tarts from Lindsay in the box. Not wanting to be rude I said yes and offered her one. Another dispatcher appeared and asked if he could have one. I obliged then promptly hid the other two. I took them home and gave them to my wife. She took one bite and fell in love...with the butter tarts, not me! The next time I went to Lindsay I bought 8. You guessed it, by the time I got home I was down to 3. Every time I went to Lindsay I ended up buying more than needed as I knew most would not make it home. Today I drove to Lindsay, 120 km from home just so I can get some coconut butter tarts for my wife...apparently a condition if I want to stay happily married! So, I still have not even tasted a butter tart but perhaps today will be the day. All I can say is anyone who has tried one loves them!GregToronto Canada
My father raves about the service at this little restaurant, and it's his number one choice in the area. My sisters and I had the opportunity for a quick lunch together which rarely happens and decided that 'The Airport' would be a fast and easy place to go. Unfortunately we waited for almost an hour for our food. Perhaps this was unusual, and I hate to put a negative review out there if it was a rare occurrence. However, we were served after folks that came in after us. One of my sisters used to own her own restaurant and we just about had to scrape her off the ceiling. Go to sit at a window seat and watch the airplanes but keep in mind that it may not be the quick food restaurant that you were expecting.
This was one of the few places open for lunch on this Sunday (other than the "chain" restaurants). We found a crowded place with untidy tables and un-enthusiastic wait staff. The food was edible (we had to eat something) and we were glad to leave....
