I finally tried this restaurant after passing by it for years, and it served some of the best BBQ I have ever had. They make their own BBQ sauces instead of smothering the meat in too much sauce. The angus brisket was outstanding, and the South Carolina pulled pork and ribs were delicious. All of their homemade sides were also excellent. Our waitress, Julie, who is also the owner, was extremely friendly and made our... View all feedback.
What cheryl henry doesn't like about Tennessee Jeds:
I can't even give it a star... the ribs tasted like ham because the owner said he brined them... very rude man as well as all the staff. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 View all feedback.
I am saddened by the recent closure of Jeds. It was a special spot for my husband and me, where we would often walk up to town and indulge in various craft beers while enjoying their delicious barbecue. They served the best fried chicken in town, always fresh, along with the best ribs. Their brisket was also excellent, and I particularly enjoyed their rice with black-eyed peas and grilled veggies. Everything was always fresh and top quality. My husband loved their mac'n cheese and collard greens, and their nachos were a definite favorite with real cheese, not the fake stuff you find elsewhere. The family-run atmosphere added to the charm, with mom, dad, daughters, and son all working together. Although they will be missed, a wine bar will soon take its place, which is disappointing. Jeds, you will be missed.
I gave them 5 stars because they truly deserve it, but I am saddened to hear that they have sold the business. A wine bar will be opening in their place now. I will miss the high-quality BBQ they served. Wishing them the best of luck in their future endeavors.
This restaurant can be judged in two ways: by its quality of food or ambiance. In this case, the focus is on the quality of the food, which is excellent. I was craving BBQ but didn't want to travel to Massapequa, so I decided to give this place a try. The menu is limited, but that's not a problem for me. It allows them to focus on doing things right. Unlike other places where nachos are just chips covered in chili, here the chili was mixed in with the chips, making for a delicious combination. I ordered a half-rack of ribs with shrimp, while my friend Julie had a half-rack of St. Louis ribs. Both dishes were tasty and the ribs were so tender they fell off the bone. I highly recommend the mac and cheese and beans as side dishes. This was our first visit, but it definitely won't be our last.
The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and the prices were reasonable. I will definitely return. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Julie was fantastic! The ribs were delicious, but the brisket left something to be desired – lacking in flavor. The sauces were tasty, and the pork and brisket nachos were a standout dish. The collards and cornbread were also excellent. Personally, I would have preferred more smoke flavor. Ribs can be a matter of personal preference, but I would definitely return for the ribs and nachos!
