This is an essstätte that has connected a story with loring air force base. in the late 1960s and early 1970s you could visit the rendezvous for cold beer and a... read more This is an essstätte that has connected a story with loring air force base. in the late 1960s and early 1970s you could visit the rendezvous for cold beer and a great pizza. at the time the tables had simple red and white, mapped plastic table cloths, neon beer signs, lighting was dark, but just right. the bar had stool for the mozens to sit, and on the bar above were large bottles of pickled eggs and sausage. it had great atmosphere and character, as during eating they occasionally vibrate their table and cutlery from the thunderstorm sound of B-52 bomber decreasing head of the basic. I am kanadier and I absolutely loved this place. fast until summer 2008. while I took my wife from 24 years and my daughter 19 and my son 17 until rendezvous, where we met family, some of whom I had not seen for 15 years and we had dinner. the rendeqvous was not disappointed. the place has still character, the beer was cold, the pizza was great. I took my family back to the second dinner. one of the things I always liked about the rendezvous back about 1970 is that the strikes were considerable. if they have ordered green paprika, they put slices of green pfeffer on the pizza, not like small small cubes of green pfeffer, they put on franchise or chain pizza restaurants today. when they ordered the estates, they did not warn, they threw on the estates in good portions and sizes. in this last summer of 2008 I noticed that the hits were again better than a chain store pizza place. my only commentary, and this is not a complaining, but only a commentary, is that I love meelob bier and they have the meelob light beer and not the regular meelob. I hope the people in caribou and limestone maine appreciate the food they have in their opposite, and I hope the owner of the rendezvous tries to preserve the history of the place. in consideration all the years that the rendezvous served the fly youngs of loring air force base, I am surprised that the rendezvous did not guide the organization of an annual loring ari force base assembly.
