Was Dave at Rio's a mag?
A true home away from home, and surprisingly affordable for the quality you get. The food and service are excellent, and the coffee is outstanding. I’ve been coming here since 1990. It’s heartbreaking that Rio's is closing today, December 23rd, 2023, after all these years. Such a shame—love you all always. View all feedback.

What Richard Nealon dislikes about Rio's:
Last week, I visited Rio's with a few friends for lunch. One of the daily specials was sausage, beans, and egg served with chips. It was a reasonable meal for about €15. However, it took some time to catch the waiter's attention to place our order. View all feedback.

We had a fantastic brunch at Rio's on our last day in Dublin. The service was outstanding, the food tasty, and the prices quite fair. I just wish we had found this spot sooner!

Charming little cafe and chippy with a true greasy spoon vibe. The breakfast was excellent. I visited on a busy Saturday morning, and the staff were warm, friendly, and attentive. I ordered the breakfast with hash browns, which was delicious and perfect fuel for a day of Guinness. I’m a big fan of the white pudding, something I don’t get back in the UK. The hash browns were the best I’ve ever had. The meal cost €12, and although I wished the portion was a bit bigger for the price, it was still great value. The chips looked amazing too—I just wish I had tried them. Highly recommended for a hearty local fry-up.

I had a fantastic time at this delightful café close to the town center. The owners were welcoming, and the breakfast I enjoyed was hearty and tasty. I’ll certainly come back next time I’m in Dublin.

The restaurant's posted hours are consistently inaccurate. Every time I try to visit, it’s closed even though they say they open at 10 am. They really need to update their schedule.
