VAT was charged twice—once at one rate and a... read more Five of us went to Junction for Christmas lunch. The food was enjoyable, but we were shocked when the bill arrived. VAT was charged twice—once at one rate and again at another—which didn’t make sense. When we questioned it, the waitress said it was VAT on food, yet the menu prices didn’t include VAT. I brought a bottle of Buck's Fizz to celebrate, but the waitress saw it and asked us to put it away, which we did. We then ordered a bottle of wine for some of us and cocktails for the others. We can’t help but feel that the innocent Buck's Fizz was the reason for the double VAT charges. While we loved the food, the way we were treated at billing means we won’t be returning. Never again.
