Round Bird - Lilydale

This is a true gem of a place. The food is always amazing no matter the menu changes.

I would like to give this place 4.5 stars, but half stars are not an option (and 5 stars are only available for exclusively vegan and or vegetarian restaurants). Food here was pretty good. I had the tofu scramble with the addition of a relish, a hash brown and mushrooms. Sides were a tad on the expensive side, as someone else noted, but that’s the only negative. My husband had the burger which he enjoyed and he said that the accompanying chips were “excellent”.

I had the tofu scramble which they serve all day. It was really good. A big portion of tofu on sourdough bread and well flavoured. I had it with a hashbrown, some beetroot relish and spinach. The addition of all the extras made it a bit expensive. The service was OK by Australian standards (I don't find Aussie restaurant service very efficient or friendly generally). The beetroot relish had an unpleasant aniseed taste which spoiled the dish, however. I should have had the tomato relish.

Absolutely delicious. Beautiful place, friendly helpful staff! Great seperate vegan menu! Amazing Mushroom Burger. We will definitely be back! Loved it!
