Cafe de L'hotel de Ville - Lille

Me, my wife and two kids visited here after climbing the Le Bellfroi just opposite. We just a bought coffee and soft drinks. Friendly proprietor who took a family photo of us too.

We went in here when undertaking our initial walk around the city. Great location near the gate and the belfry. Good food beer and wine. I would recommend.

We called in here for a pre dinner kir prior to our restaurant booking what a gret find. We were met by a trio of musicians soon to become a quartet as the owner joined in on a harmonica. Then a couple of new arrivals picked up an instrument as well. Fantastic atmosphere where everyone seemed to know one another and were all extremely friendly to a bunch of 4 English visitors. Brilliant atmosphere. Wonderful service with a smile and good value. I can't speak about any food as we had none. Although, I'm sure if do any it would be very good too.

Wow, where. as in the previous notice. My wife and I fell on by chance at a little walk. entered for a few drinks and the attention turned to us in English. in the good sense very welcoming and many laughs. 3 men the trio according to the last message I gathered picked up their guitars and bass and played some songs. very well. during the next 20 minutes, several other premises arrived with their kit and also played at different times. the owner joined his harmonica that my wife loved and the evening was a success. Everyone sang by applauding and having fun. the pub itself is very small and comfortable, which gives it a pleasant feeling, everyone knows everyone. even the guy next to the baguettes store was there on his guitar (this is how we located the pub earlier in the day). When we left around 11:30, we were asked to stay longer, they didn't want us to leave. great place, nice ppl and very cheap too. this kind of night happens every (Friday) 2 weeks apparently (we went there on April 3). enjoy ppl.
