Everything was thought about to make this a relaxed, fully explained (in English too), excellent tasting experience 2 veggies, 1 nut avoider, 1 fish allergy all catered for with ease. Ingredients all explained throughout. I’ve rated this above other Michelin star experiences as the staff felt relaxed happy (it’s a small kitchen so you get to see some of the magic being the scenes) without all the macho chef pressure... What Charles D doesn't like about Bloempot:
Our dinner took four hours with unduly long waits between courses even with allowance for preparation. Our pork course was fatty, gristly, and while presented as “blue” parts were raw. Very disappointing. View all feedback.
Had the tasting menu with matching drinks. Loved the drinks. Standout dishes were the cod and pork. Nice atmosphere aswell snd good service.
We had an enjoyable lunch here. Service was good and the menu varied. There were some interesting dishes, flavours and use of ingredients (cauliflower purée with ginger ice cream and a horseradish panna cotta), but somehow it didn’t “wow” me like some of the other reviews. We had the full menu with the drinks pairing. The wine and beer pairings worked with the dishes, but there wasn’t anything spectacular on offer in my opinion. It felt like they could have gone further with the bold flavour choices rather then just a small hint. Also received the sediment of the wine poured with one of the pairings which I raised but it wasn’t replaced. I drank it regardless and it didn’t affect the natural wine, but thought it might have been replaced given we had one clear glass and one full of sediment.
When you are walking through Lille looking for this restaurant and bump into the sign you don't think of such a good restaurant. Super nice that when you come don't have to be dressed very fancy, just neat is good. Booked immediately two months ago when the reservation opened and it was a good choice, the restaurant was well full. Instead of dinner we took a seat at lunch, which is also incredibly nice. We chose the chef's menu including wines and beers. We were served eight courses, some vega and some not, all of which were incredibly delicious. The matching wines and beers were a good match with the food each time. We really enjoyed every course with special and unique combinations. Highly recommended during a city break Lille, but make sure to make reservations .
Best meal we had in our long weekend in Lille. We got a last minute booking for lunch and ordered the “discovery” menu everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. 60€ is a great price for the quality of food, number of courses, and excellent service. Go for the beer and wine pairing as well! +30€
Really good cuisine in a rustic restaurant. Service is great and food is amazing. Not expensive for a gourmet restaurant.
